Political Policies 321 Analysis

I really enjoyed participating and learning about America’s dynamic political policies. This class was very useful and I have used the social, cultural, political, governmental and economic prism method to dissect numerous policy topics for other classes. The format encouraged class discussion and it was engaging to hear what other students thought on hot topic issues. I also believe this course taught me how to have more meaningful political conversations by learning how to refrain from personal political ideology and rhetoric. There were many thought provoking topics discussed during class but the issues I was most intrigued by involved political strategy. I was very surprised to learn about UA’s proposed smoking ban and since have since shared this information with several friends. Like me many of them I was very surprised the school recognized the nearing possibility of marijuana legalization. I would have never expected the school to preemptively take action to solve a problem that hasn’t occurred, it also speaks to social recognition of a southern institution of changing times to come. Unfortunately I am living throughout a disappointing time in our economic history that was also an informative subject. As I am graduating Saturday I found many of our discussions about our future to be very grim. The fact that we would be the first generation that will undoubtedly not do as well as our parents is very disappointing. On the other hand it was also uplifting that as a graduate I would join the upper twenty percent of society. I never would have assumed that eighty percent of Americans hadn’t received a college degree. While our class discussions were always engaging I often did leave class with a heightened state of stress. Much of what we learned was extremely practical such as life advice to start investing in a retirement plans. I gained helpful insight into my generation’s questionable future including

NATHO was founded in 2008 to support in the ethical business practices in the travel health care organization. NATHO has a written a code of ethics that covers the relationship between clients and physician providers. This code of ethics is available to all NATHO members. If at any time there needed to be a complaint resolved then it would be filed with the NATHO Ethics Committee. NATHO, also has a written statement available of the Standards of Practice, this includes the performance issues. NATHO wants to assure the public that they apply the highest standards in the industry. The relationship in NATHO’s values and beliefs is that for its members to be responsible in maintaining and promoting ethical practice. Some of NATHO’s responsibilities are to have a signed contract from the client. The contract should state clearly all the conditions of possible fees, and the terms of payment before submitting without clients consent. In ethical terms of this process NATHO values every client. NATHO believes that the member should fulfill the agreement with the client, and the member should not make any promises to the client, unless it can be fulfilled. Another responsibility from NATHO would be for a member to receive permission from a candidate for a specific assignment, and once the candidate approves then the member is to get permission from the client. The ethical rules that fall into place for this standard is that a member should maintain the confidence of the client on all business matters, unless it is directed by the client to reveal their information. Also, a member should not make false statements to a client, candidate, or another member of the organization. Another standard of practice that NATHO considers is that candidates that work with the Travel Health Care companies, they need to establish an agreement relationship in writing. At any time they…

This course has given me a more humanistic view of fellow human beings. This is not to say that I did not before have compassion for other human’s beings; rather to say that my understanding of people and what they may be experiencing within their lives has changed some. We judge people everyday based on things such as appearance, speech and the like. If we look at things with a bit more empathy we can truly say that we can or have walked a mile in someone else's shoes. Many times sympathy takes control when really empathy should take hold. Personally, I implement new learning's into my everyday life. I learned to not be so quick to make a hasty decision and that actually hearing someone is different from just listening to them. Carl Rogers said this and I believe it has deep bearings within this course; "An assumption unusual in psychology today is that the subjective human being has an important value which is…
