The data protection act has been put in place to protect employees against the misuse of personal data, personal information will be stored in a file and may only be disclosed by law outside the company with the employees written consent , or where there is any danger to the employees health.
It is important the company has a secure system to record and store information so that they can contact the employee , or in case of an emergency contact the next of kin .
