Goal Statement Essay Example
Program: Master of Business Administration
Specialization: Human Resources Management

Walden University Professional Goal Statement
Personal/Professional
I am interested in attaining a graduate degree because an education is something that can never be taken away from you and I would also like to prove to myself that the past does not define an individual. My primary reason for choosing the Human Resources field is because this has always been an interest of mine. The primary objectives of the Human Resources Director is the development of an employee oriented company that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. I believe that I am the person for the job. Another reason for selecting my specialization is - I have a Bachelors degree in Finance and an Associates degree in Accounting, with a Masters degree in Human Resources Management I would make myself for marketable. My personal goals would include becoming an Officer in the United States Air Force Reserves and receiving my Doctorates degree. Professionally, I see myself being the Director of Human Resources in the military and moving on to become the Director of Human Resources at a large university or organization.
Academic Experience I earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a Finance core from Morehead State University. I also have an Associates degree in Arts with an Accounting option that I received while attending Maysville Community College. I plan to use previous work experiences and education to benefit my goal towards achieving my Masters degree. My undergraduate GPA is definitely not one to be proud of, ashamed is actually the best word that I can use to express my true feelings. After graduating from High School – I decided to move to my hometown of Maysville, Kentucky, primarily to assist with the care of my aging grandmother and to begin my freshman year of college. At the age of 18 years I definitely had my hands

Goal 1: Personal Achievement Goal There are many types of goals. Growing up, I always dreamed of being two things: a mother and a nurse. I am blessed to have two wonderful children ages 14 and 16 and have had the privilege of being able to be a stay-at-home mom during their younger years. Now that they are older and a bit more independent, I have decided to go back to school and fulfill my goal of earning my degree in Nursing. Throughout the years of growing and maturing, I have learned how important it is to have good morals, values, goals, a passion for something, and a good education. I have not only taught my children the importance of these characteristics, but I have also shown them that regardless of one’s age or stage in life, that…

Of the following functional areas of human resources, I would highly consider a career in training and development. Being an administrator at my current place of employment I get to touch on some of the aspects that are important in this area. For instance, upon hiring of an employee I already orient them to the office as well as the position they will be filling; answering any questions they may have about the company. I also participate in skills training, ensuring that if I myself am not the person training then they are partnered with a person that is knowledgeable in that area to help the new employee become more proficient. Two skills that I will need to develop in order to be successful is to better develop career development programs to help insure the employee has a clear understanding of the tasks at hand as well as the tasks within the office. I am also a firm believer in…

Brandon Jacobs 11/21/13 Statement of Goals and Choices English 101 Goals to Seek The project I chose to do was two different collages with different meanings and images that represent what my goal was. To start the overall goal of the project was to effectively communicate that the United States needs to change the focus of our education system. The way the education system is heading is a place that puts more emphasis on learning Math and Science than English. This project clearly shows images that have a positive view on math and science but a negative view of English. The reason being is because I wanted to show what most people in the United States think about English. The use of black and white pictures was to show that the matter at hand is serious and that it is black and white, meaning that there is two sides you can choose. This effectively forces the audience to automatically start thinking about which side they will choose. Making this exactly what I wanted to achieve, to make people think deeply about education. Pictures having people who hate reading represent the stress that comes along with the subject of English. Other pictures give a real feel to the audience because the pictures show actual facts, people, or things that represent emotions and connotations in the realm of education. No matter how far fetched the pictures were I was able to connect them to the goal of getting English to be a more sought after subject.…

Paige Sander Management 421 Ms. Barnes February 27, 2012 “The Goal” Essay 1 In Eliyahu Goldratt’s novel “The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement”, he tells a story about a man going through hard times, in both his work life and personal life. Alex works in a manufacturing plant that is barely staying afloat, and his boss has left it up to him to keep the business running with a three-month time span to do it in. Even though “The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement” is just a story, it is still very relatable to businessmen, businesswomen, and students. The three categories of constraints that are shown in the story are knowledge, material, and supplier.…
