Egg Drop Experiment Essay Example
Egg Drop The purpose of this lab, was to create a device to help an egg survive the fall from a fire truck without breaking. In this lab I used a beer holder and cotton balls and a gel pillow to help the egg survive the fall. My procedure was to put a few cotton balls in the beer holder then I put my egg in it, next I filled the rest of the holder with cotton balls. Finally I taped the beer holder to my weighted pillow and it weighed around 490g. My results concluded that my egg hit to hard and cracked on the concrete. As the projectile was falling it didn’t fall straight and landed right on the part holding the egg not the pillow as I intended. I thought my project would work if it would have fallen right. My cradle was soft and I thought it could have saved the egg. If I were to improve my project I would have used something harder as a base and tried to keep the egg more secure. I would have also tried to accelerate the time of impact to try and save the egg. After the drop I realized my egg had not survived. The egg hit the ground to hard and cracked along the top of the egg. There was contact between the egg and the surrounding objects to a point where it cracked the egg. My results were what I was expecting because I was not sure if the container would fall straight down or move like it did. I was disappointed but it was a nice attempt to save my egg.
If I were to do this experiment differently I would have used something harder as a base and tried to keep the egg more secure. I would have also tried to accelerate the time of impact to try and save the

At the end of our experiment we saw that there were drastic changes to the eggs. The corn syrup egg lost nearly half of its water content making it shriveled and very fragile. The vinegar egg stayed the same and it did not lose or gain vinegar. With the salt water egg we had two of them lose water and one of them gain water. The largest egg of them all was the vinegar egg.…

This lab contains lots of weaknesses. There were two manipulated variables in this lab, the eggs’ weight and the solution in the beaker. There were two labs because of vinegar lab and three solutions lab. If I get a chance to repeat this experiment, I would choose to have eggs that has the same weight or reasonable difference. Second thing that I would prefer is to measure the weight before putting eggs in the…

When I first tried to drop this capsule without the egg to see if the capsule would survive and how it would fall, it landed and turned to one of its sides, but the structure itself didn’t break. When I saw that the structure didn’t break, I rechecked the joints in the structure to see if they were still together. Once I checked the structure, I put an egg and I went to drop it. I dropped it in grass and when it fell, the egg broke completely and it turned to its side. Once I saw that the egg broke…

The objective of our project was to design and build a contraption that would secure an egg from breaking upon impact from a second story window, and the contraption wieghing as least as possible while falling the fastest. We wanted to design something that would provide a lot of cushioning directly to the egg, and also provide extra cushioning to weaken the impact. After testing and submitting a design of just bubble wrap around the egg we found out that it will not be allowed. Due to this we had to make changes in order to gain originality pionts and add to the creativity. After pondering for a few minutes we came up with the idea of putting the egg in a container of some material with cushioning, and then wrap the container in bubble wrap. This suttle change was enough to gain originality points and led us to the building stage.…

The drop of the egg has many physics, when the egg drops there it has lost for forces behind it such as the eggs speed and the movement of it. The forces of the egg is velocity, speed, Newton's first law, gravity and acceleration. If you see when the egg drops the motion will still remain moving until it gets interrupted by any other other forces, for example the floor that the egg would eventually hit would be the force that causes it to stop it from moving. Do to history and past experiments the experiment of the Egg Drop illustrates the concept of physics.…

This egg drop experiment forced me to think and develop a design that I felt confident with. I developed several models and tested them numerous times, but could not settle on one. Eventually, I was able to put an addition onto one of my designs which gave me confidence in its ability to protect that precious egg. I will explain why my design worked so well in respect to impulse, air resistance, and stability.…

For my egg drop project I made a contraption with a garbage bag, yarn, cardboard, Popsicle sticks, and hot glue. First I cut a medium sized square out of cardboard. Then I stuck Popsicle sticks in the shape of a square with three sticks on each side. After that the sticks were hot glued to the card board from top and bottom. And in order for the egg to be seen from the bottom I had to cut a circular hole into the bottom of the piece of cardboard.…
