Introduction
Bacteria and fungi are both micro-organisms, however, fungi are spore-producing organisms whereas bacteria are not and fungi can be multicellular and bacteria is only a unicellular organism. These 2 micro-organisms, along with many other things circulate in the air within our environment. These micro-organisms then settle and become more prevalent in different areas. An experiment was conducted to see where these micro-organisms were present and how widespread and abundant they were.

Method:
In the experiment, there were 3 environments in which agar plates were used to get bacteria and fungi. Environment No.1 was inside the lab with the laboratory air, environment No.2 was outside the lab in the open air and environment No.3 was taken from scalp scrapings from the students involved.
In environment 1, 6 agar plates were produced. The 6 plates were separated into groups of 2. Each group of 2 was exposed for different time periods; 5, 10 and 20 minutes respectively.1 plate for each time period was incubated at 25˚C (a) and the other 3 plates were incubated at 36˚C (b).
For environment 2, the above was repeated in the new environment.
The same was done for environment 3, however, the time periods were replaced by 15, 30 and 60 seconds respectively.

    2 agar plates divided into 4 equal sections were used for this experiment. Each section was labeled with a number from 1-8. 8 Sterile swabs were used, 1 for each surface swab. 8 surfaces in my home were then identified that could serve as a fomite and swabbed with a sterile swab that was dipped in distilled water to moisten it.     The first plate was labeled with our initials, lab section, one half was called the exposed and the other half was called foiled protected. The second had four sections labeled- Coconut oil, SPF 50, Sunglass and Control. Next, 0.15 ml of yeast was pipetted onto the two separate agars. Then the disposable L-rod spreader was used to spread the liquid so that the agar surfaces are evenly covered. Then the plates were placed in a dark place for 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes the first plate with the exposed half and foiled half, the the foiled half of plate was covered with dark aluminum foil. The second plate had coconut oil, SPF 50, and sunglass lens applied to its designated area on top on the led of the plate, not directly on the yeast.     The unknown project was a very good realization of me and my partner going out by our selves. The very first day of the Unknown project I was acquainted with Denise who was very friendly and was very nice as far as assisting me in the project. The first day we were introduced too various different forms of the unknown such as broth, Blood agar plate, MSA plate, MAC plate, and the EMB plate. Before that we had done the 3 phase isolate which we had a possible of 10 points of achieving. In the isolation plate we had too take the sample of our unknown, which was the letter G. After we had done the 3-phase isolation plate we inoculated half of the plate, which was the S/D media. The Plate’s that we had provided too us were the BAP, MSA, MAC, and EMB. When we were successfully inoculated the S/D media the plates were put in the Incubator at approximated 37 degrees Celsius. The second day we had came into the laboratory we had too read the Nutrient Agar plate that was the one that we had too the 3 phase isolation plate. My results were somewhat correct but I had a lot of backtracking. After that we had too read the S/D Media, which we had, too diagram and describe each of the plates that we had put in the incubator. Once they had come out of the Incubator the results that I had achieved was the MSA plate was yellow, stinky, I did have growth, there were a positive match for small colonies, and was shiny. The second one that I had achieved was on the MAC plate. The color on this specific plate was red, it had smelled rotten, there was definitely some growth on the plate the texture was shiny and was not raised. Out of these plates I had somewhat of a indication of what the specimen was since after the gram stain we had done in lab we found out that on the MSA plate we had achieved Gram positive…
