The company we had selected is the largest chain of cinemas in Malaysia, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC). It was founded in 1981 as Golden Communications Circuit, while the Cathay is the one of the oldest cinemas in Malaysia until 1998. At the same time the website has been launch in 1981. Besides, GSC was founded in 1998 as a merger of Golden Communications (GC) Circuit and Cathay Cinemas. The merger has resulted in the biggest single entity in the Malaysian cinema entertainment business. The first GSC cinema to operate in Malaysia was opened in Kota Kinabalu on 14 July 1981. With the opening of the 8-screen cinema exclusively in Tropicana City Mall on June 23, 2009, GSC operates the largest circuit with a total of 183 screens in 23 locations, all of which are located in prime sites in major cities and towns throughout the country. GSC was first cinema ticket online purchase with seat selection function to our customer and first cinema chain to introduce digital 3-D films in Malaysia, with "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" in June 2008.
Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd (GSC) main business is leading film exhibitor and distributor in Malaysia. GSC is the biggest distributor of independent Chinese, English and foreign language films from companies like Media Asia, Emperor Motion Pictures, Mandarin Films, Summit Entertainment, Mandate, Lakeshore, GK Films, Wild Bunch, GMM etc. Besides, "Glitters", GSC's F & B outlet cum merchandise store are located in GSC Gurney Plaza, GSC 1 Utama (New Wing) and GSC Pavilion KL. GSC is Malaysia's largest cinema circuit, offers not only a total entertainment experience but also an ideal venue for corporate functions, seminars, product or service launches and promotional events.
