CHAPTER I – INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Nowadays, Information Technology plays a big role in our life especially in educational environment. By realizing on the important of information communication technology, there are many facilities that supported by a government to help student increase their knowledge and learning style. For example there is at least one computer lab is develop at each school.
Computer Aided Instruction is an instruction material presented by a computer. Computer Aided Instructions either present information or fill a tutorial role and testing the student for comprehension. By providing one-on-one interaction and producing immediate response to input answers. Computer Aided Instruction allows users to demonstrate mastery and learn new material at their own pace. A disadvantage is that computerized instruction cannot extend the lesson beyond the limits of the programming. Computer-Aided Instruction, diverse and rapidly expanding spectrum of computer technologies that assist the teaching and learning process. CAI is also known as computer-assisted instruction.
In E-Biology Interactive Learning can be defined as a use of computer and Internet technology in the educational environment. Computers are fast technology and an important factor in teaching in school, and learning process is very important especially to help students learn effectiveness. It involves the use of a computer to provide training, educational or learning material.
Objectives of the Study
The study aims to create a Computer Aided Instruction for the students of Anilao National High School, Anilao, Iloilo
1. To create application learning module for E-learning.
2. To develop resource material for E-learning.
3. To develop E-Biology Interactive Learning for the standard of the effectiveness of the CAI in terms of achievement of students
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The Computer Aided Instruction is intended for the Anilao National High School only. The system is limited for the faculty and the students E-Biology Interactive Learning. The system provides a security by user’s policy for the admin user and user accounts that allows only authorized personnel for access the system. That may have influenced the outcome of the study is how fluent the instructors were at handling the technology in the classroom. The multimedia programs were quite advanced and state of the art, which could have intimidated the instructors had they not been prepared to properly use the technology. Even though the instructors were trained to use the equipment, the complexity of the technology could have intimidated the instructors from taking full advantage of the potential benefits. Significance of the Study
The computer-based learning environment has vast possibilities that are just beginning to emerge as the medium is being utilized by more and more institutions nationwide. The new educational software industries have the potential to meet the educational needs of a large and increasingly diverse student population. In order for any college educational program to succeed, it must fill a need for students. Because a computer-based learning environment is still a relatively unexplored frontier, it is important to identify key aspects that may translate into student success and achievement.
