Marks ≥ 85 % qualify as out-standing performance ("A" grade). Minimum pass marks are 40 % (for "D" grade). A(-) to D grades shall be at approximately equal intervals inbetween.

Attendance policy

Every student is expected to attend every class (lecture and practical) and site visit.
Each visit will count as one practical class. Class participation marks will include presence and participation in lectures and practicals (no credit for absence). Absence in a visit will be awarded zero marks for that visit and its report. Minus one mark for absence in a lecture. In case of absence on medical or emergency grounds, please inform the faculty ASAP (any mode), and submit an application immediately on return to classes. 6.

Auditing the course

The requirements for audit pass grade are (a) submission of every assignment, term paper and laboratory report, and (b) 90 % attendance, and (c) 85 % marks on the course total. Failure to meet
