32 “Well its actually happening ma’, I’m goin’ back to school.”Rufus said. “I want you to know, I truly am proud of you Rufus.” His mother replied. Curtis and Janet went to a different school then Rufus but he still walked them to school then walked himself to school. On his way to school a car followed him very slowly but Rufus kept walking. When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them. When the bell rang he went to his locker and when he got to class he looked out the window and saw the same car that followed him to school. The only person he thought of was Simon. But he didn’t have a car? Rufus ran to the office to explain the…

Odle. I’m not sure when you are going to read this, but I’m gonna go off on a limb and say it's probable that it is after wednesday; I just wanted to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed your class for the semester I have had it, and I have honestly not seen the level of dedication you have to the subject in any other history teacher at McCallie. No, this is not an attempted to salvage a grade or anything of that manner, just my honest, legitimate opinion that I find easier to give in the form of text than through speech. I hope you have a splendid summer, and from the kid that often forgets to remove his hat; take care.…

I Thought this class was gonna be easy but now I know that it's not that easy cause i'm not in school. And I also know that this class is gonna prepare us to be better and to get better at computer's and all that stuff. CTE is pretty hard if your not in school doing your work but even tough I'm not there it doesn't mean I'm not capable of doing all your work and having good grades. So with whatever decision you pick of giving me a grade change or not I'll still have to do your work and like I said i'll try my best at getting good grades. And if you don't want to change my grade it's okay cause I will still know that at least you tried to give me chance with writing you…

Last year, as a junior, I took AP Biology. The emotions that come rolling out of me as I say that course name are endless. My sister struggled through the course and got a “C” in the class. Hearing that from her I was very nervous at the beginning of the year. I was a straight “A” student and didn’t want to get a “C” permanently stamped on my transcript. As the year progressed in that class, my jitters turned into affection. The information I learned in that class were the most interesting things I had ever learned in school. That class, however hard it was, allowed me to thrive in my junior year of high school. Interestingly enough it was in this class that I was first introduced to the Ebola virus. We learned about the disease from…

“Okay everyone, settle down so we could start the test.” Mrs. Nair said, and I carefully followed her instructions, appearing like a student fully prepared for the test. Wait, of course I just look prepared on the outside but if you would dissect me like a frog and try to experiment on “The Anatomy of Jovelle Salamanca” you would find out that the exact moment I entered the classroom, my blood pressure must have been so high because my heart was pounding so quickly. I am sure that I’m having a nervous breakdown. The first and last thng that came into my mind was “I’ll do my best, but I am ready to fail.” People know me as a positive person but in times like this, like in a crisis, I am the most pessimistic person you…

It was not-so-silent in the lab, as the usual hum of side conversations from my classmates not-so-diligently working filled the air. Professor Hankamp, my biology instructor, was returning graded midterms inconspicuously so as not to distract an already absent minded student body. The ambient noise began to crescendo as more and more students gazed upon their judgement scrawled in red ink. Joyous cries echoed throughout the classroom as students came to realize, to their surprise, that they had unexpectedly passed, albeit with the bare minimum. Others let out contented sighs as if their failure had somehow affirmed their self expectation or goal. And I was furious. Not because I had received an unfavorable grade, I can assure you that I did not. Rather, it was because others had, and their mediocrity sat well with them. All around me I heard something along the lines of “I don’t care, at least I passed.” Such audacious statements were like fuel to the fire that was my rage.…

Today is Monday and it's the beginning of a new week. We only got 4 more months to go in our senior year! Well I don't have much to talk about but I'm very excited as to what's to come for the rest of the year. I'm trying my hardest not to fail math but it's very complicated and I didn't have a student aid before and now I do but it doesn't change the fact I'm struggling. I just want the year to be over so I can go to Puerto Rico and enjoy my summer with my family for once since I haven't had the chance with how busy everyone is. I look forward to the end of the year because a lot of people told me senior year was gonna be the easiest and it irritates me that it is probably the hardest thing I'm going through right now. Well that's all I wanted to really get off my chest so yeah. Bye.…
