Comparing and Contrasting Teacher Standards
There are many different standards that we as teachers must learn and be willing to follow. The Department of Education both on the federal level and on our individual state levels is always working on things to help both the teachers and the students.
Some of the standards are the No Child Left Behind (NCLB), The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and the Standards for each state, mine being Texas State Standards.
There are different requirements for becoming a teacher. Texas, the NCLB, and the CEC are similar in that all require a bachelor degree. All three standards require some form of testing for certification and knowledge of your area of teaching.
