Ethical Speaking Analysis

I was at a seminar around March of this year and after listening to the speaker for about ten minutes, I realized that she didn’t have a real clue as to what she was talking about or she was drunk. Unfortunately, it was the latter half of my determination and I was extremely disappointed. The woman who was speaking had been going through a nasty personal situation and had taken up drinking and the company that she was working for did not realize that there was a problem. She had started the presentation and she stumbled over words and I thought, “Well I do that sometimes too”. It then turned into the presentation from hell. She had tripped on the carpet and had even knocked over a small table. Needless to say, the presentation ended way before it’s time and all of us were given a full refund.
This was an unethical presentation in every aspect. I say this because the speaker should have never put herself in the position she did. You should never put yourself or the company that you work for in a position like this. If you are having personal problems and you cannot function normally, then you should not be in that line of work or you need to take a temporary leave of absence until you have recovered from your episode. The company that actually held the seminar was not making excuses for her and told us that they did not want to insult our intelligence with excuses.
I am not a professional speaker, but I do have the ability to get up in front of large audiences and do presentations as well as teach. It is not my passion but it something that I really enjoy. Teaching people about things, that I have learned, is satisfying and I like it when people gain knowledge. After all, life is a learning experience and one we should share.
I would never get up in front of any size group of people and attempt to do a presentation of any type. I once had a

Ethics in my opinion are something that everyone naturally acquires as one grows up in a certain environment; even then a person can make their own choices on how ethical they choose to be. To completely different lifestyles of people can mutually agree on what is ethically sound and what may not be a moral choice. Ethics are standards that a person’s behaviors are by how they may act when put into situations that allow them to exert them around everyone they are involved with in their everyday life. A more textbook definition of what ethics truly is are“The principles, norms, and standards of conduct governing an individual or organization” (Treviño & Nelson, 2007, p. 13); ethics form the basis for determining the correct action, or moral behavior, in a particular situation. An individual’s personality is also based on their ethics and morals that they live by, which form the character, which is being trusting, respectful, responsible, fair and caring to others.…

Many people have the natural fear and anxiety when they address a gathering or a group of people even though individually they have got the capacity to impress others. This fear psychosis makes them perform poorly in front of others and they feel overawed when some perform exceptionally well and the cycle continues. This situation can be rectified if such people undergo presentation skills training which teaches the aspects of presentation and the ways to overcome the initial fear. Presentation skills’ training is desirable for marketing persons and people in public life as they should have the capacity to take the people with them on their ideology. After all, what ever your strengths a proper presentation makes the job that much easier and a poorly presented work does not produce the desired results.…

We all know what it’s like to sit through a bad presentation. We can easily spot the flaws — too long, too boring, indecipherable, what have you — when we watch others speak. The thing is, when we take the stage ourselves, many of us fall into the same traps.…

In the world today I think that some have forgotten how personal ethics can play an important role in the success or failure in a person life weather it’s at work or in an educational setting it is quite often forgotten. It is very important that we pay attention to our surroundings and how we treat and interact with others we want to make sure that we carry ourselves in dignified and respectful manner and try a be mindful of those around us. I think that having good morals and being rational about life can also help you go far but you have to work hard at it and stay focused. If you lose yourself and don’t have any moral or ethic standard you may find life struggles being even harder and the people that you encounter may put distance between you and them. This is the reason that I pride myself on being a rational and compassionate individual that loves to interact with other I love helping and doing what I can to contribute weather it at work or in an academic environment I am always conscientious of my ethical behavior an how other may be viewing my actions. I know that I view others actions and how they treat people especially in the work environment I notice that some people are not approachable or don’t want to be team players I find it hard to work with people like that, I want other to know that if It is something that I can help them with I will, they don’t have to feel uncomfortable coming to me for help and that when they see me they get good vibes, I also want others to know that I’m trust worthy and reliable. I think in both of these type of setting weather it is at work or school we all should have some type of ethical guidelines to follow so that everyone is unison in what is to be expected from us and those guidelines should be upheld in high regards so that things run smoothly and orderly and no one has to guess about the way they should conduct themselves ethically.…
