With the overflow of social networks, people get a chance to present themselves online. These social networks then become platforms for people to get to know people, to make connections and to …In this context, it is extremely to know the difference between one’s virtue life and one’s actual life.

In the article of ….second life, we see a popular platform for people to live out a “second life” on line. Although this website is designed in this way, we see through it a need for ppl to disguise themselves online. This could be a result of trying to live out a different life cross gender, cross race. * How costly is it to signal something? (Not money cost..) The more costly, the more honest and reliable.  * Ex. gazelles jumping up and down when an attacker is nearby. The cost is their death, but it signals that they are fast. * Honest signal: The gazelle example, very high cost and usually reliable. Ex. on Facebook is the kind of pictures they put up.  * Conventional signals: Lower cost, rely on cultural understandings. Only way to determine if they're good or bad signals is long term observation. Ex. Having a BMW logo on you Facebook, doesn't tell you anything about them necessarily.  Honesty
