Bridges
Bridge Instruments

Bridge Instruments
Various types of bridge circuits are used in instrumentation. They can operate in either deflection mode or null principle. They give very high degree of accuracy.
Bridges Instruments are used to measure

Resistance, Inductance, Capacitance

Purity of components

Impedances and admittances

DC Bridge

DC Current Bridge Instruments
• Wheatstone bridge and Kelvin Bridge
• Used for measurement of resistance
• Made sensitive to temperature, pressure and light • Complex physical phenomena such as dew point humidity, mass flow
• Range from 100 Ω to several hundred kΩ

WHEATSTONE BRIDGE

•R1 & R2 Known ratio arm
•R3 standard variable (adjustable) resistor
•R4 unknown resistor
•Detector – Galvanometer, CRO, Digital display

WHEATSTONE BRIDGE

Sensitivity to Unbalance
The sensitivity to unbalanced of the bridge is measured by analyzing the bridge circuit for small unbalance • Change in one resistance
• Change in all resistances
• Equal resistance bridge
• Unequal resistance bridge

Sensitivity to Unbalance
• Change in one resistance

Assume Battery resistance is zero

The most exhilarating, terrifying ride of the year is soon going to be opening! The Railroad Bridge is a terrifying ride guaranteed to make passengers feel the adrenaline coursing through patrons veins. This ride come from the urban legend that comes from a railroad bridge on Susco Road in Pennsylvania. cxcxcxThe controversy over the Charles River Bridge dated as far back as October 15, 1640 when the Massachusetts legislature, in accordance with common law, assumed control over public ferries. The legislature proceeded to give Harvard College the power to run a ferry on the Charles River between Boston and Charlestown. Harvard continued to operate the ferry, and collect its profits until 1785. That year, a group of men petitioned the state legislature to build a bridge across the river due to the inconvenience of the ferry. As time had passed, the two towns had grown and communication between them had become more important, and technology was at a point now where a bridge appeared to be a wise economic undertaking.…

The Brooklyn Bridge, originally known as the East River Bridge, is a bridge in New York City that spans over the East River. It is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. This is the only bridge that connects the borough of Brooklyn to its sister, Manhattan. This bridge, with a huge span of 486.3m, was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1903. Not only was it the longest, but it was the very first steel-wire suspension bridge in America.…

The novel The Other Side of the Bridge by Mary Lawson delves into the coming of age of a boy named Ian as he experiences the trials of the transition from adolescence into adulthood. The boy from the small Northern Ontario town of Struan interacts with a variety characters in the secluded, tight-knit community, with the most prominent of them being his childhood friend Pete. Their relationship is primarily centered around the pair’s passion for fishing and nature itself, where it is gradually revealed that Pete’s persona embodies the common perception of Aboriginal attitude and behaviour, albeit in a loose and figurative manner. The secluded setting of Struan, coupled with the isolated state of the Objibway reserve, stand to leave an indelible mark upon the subdued, collected personality of Pete. Thus Pete’s personality reflects the values of The First Nations through his passive disposition, emphasis on tradition, and specific set of priorities…

This included the introduction new technology and innovations, and the creation of factories and the assembly line and mass production, and a new urbanized lifestyle. The city became a new and worthy opportunity for those who formerly worked on a farm. By 1925 the city, and not the farm, had become the basic reality for most Americans because of the Second Industrial Revolution, the mass immigration, and the opportunity for greater wages.…
