Data

Data has in itself little semantic content: For example:

PRICE: US$ 20000

Data will have more meaning, when presented as a part of a structure

Data is a collection of facts about events. This collection of facts is in raw form meaning that this is an unorganised and unprocessed form, which cannot be used for meaningful purpose for example Name, Age, and Price. Data can be qualitative or quantitative of a collection of both. Such qualitative and quantitative data is attributed to a variable or different set of variables. Data is obtained on the bases of different variables depending on the nature of the data. Data is collected in a large form and then information and knowledge are filtered from the data to support in decision making…

Our society has these roles we tend to follow growing up. Boys should play with toys like cars, tag an cops and robbers. While girls think they should be playing with dolls. Or at least that’s how we make it seem. Not every child follows these distentions though. Many choose to go their own direction. culture is has a huge part of gender roles , It’s all about your environment an what you are around plus the culture you are raised in, if you grow up being told males are ranked above the woman than that’s what you start to think over time. That leads us to the selective abortions, this was talked about in the “sex gender” article, and some environments choose to take the woman’s life at birth. Which to me, does not make since at all because as time goes by eventually we won’t have as many females and will be over populated with males. Sex is biological and includes physical attributes such as sex chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, internal reproductive structures, and external genitalia. At birth, it is used to identify individuals as male or female. Gender on the other hand is far more complicated. Along with one’s physical traits, it is the complex interrelationship between those traits and one’s internal sense of self as male, female, both or neither as well as one’s outward presentations and behaviors related to that perception, found at www.asanet.org/ . All around the world things like this are going on. Woman get denied on all types of things like education, child mortality rates are higher, an most of the time they marry very young. A lot of the time these woman don’t have a choice to do what they want in life.…

This article talks about the importance of using Big Data which companies are easily able to collect from their businesses, customers and employees. It explains the numerous advantages of using the data collected by companies effectively so that it can be used by the company in improving its efficiencies, sales, faster and quicker turnaround which in turn would lead to increase revenues and finally increased profits (which is what the stakeholders of the company are looking for).It illustrates the prominent fact that companies that are data-driven perform much better than their competitors who aren't using Big Data. Big Data gives companies the competitive edge and enables the company's managers to make better and effective decisions that are accurate since, it is based on evidence rather than make decisions by using intuition (which is old school method). While the article provides evidence of the advantages of using Big Data at the same time it does mention the issues that are related to collecting, managing and finally analyzing the data collected by the company. The companies managers have to learn and hire employees who are able to identify correct patterns in the data and in turn translate them into useful business information which can used while making important decisions in the company. This analysis of Big data is a very powerful tool and if a company is able to do it correctly then it will be able to reap huge profits and successes.…

“Big data is not a precise term; rather it's a characterization of the never ending accumulation of all kinds of data, most of it unstructured. It describes data sets that are growing exponentially and that are too large, too raw or too unstructured for analysis using relational database techniques. Whether terabytes or petabytes, the precise amount is less the issue than where the data ends up and how it is used.”------Cite from EMC’s report “Big data: Big opportunity to create business value”.…
