The Benefits Of Training On The Job

Young people have never had so many training and education options available to them, but not all courses allow students to earn money while they learn. Apprenticeships do just that, giving you the opportunity to earn a wage while training on the job.

Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with academic study to give apprentices the hands-on experience and the theoretical knowledge they need to get a job in their chosen field. Working with experienced staff, you’ll get the chance to observe how the job is done, before trying it for yourself and being subjected to constructive criticism to encourage you to develop your skills.

Employers put a lot of effort into making sure you get your hands dirty and do a great job on training you to a level where you feel comfortable carrying out tasks on your own. Earn while you learn As an apprentice you will work with your employer towards personal goals and have your progress monitored as you go to make sure you are on track. Away from the workplace you’ll learn the academic and theoretical ideas behind the job, which you’ll then get to apply in the real-world.

While some of us are lucky enough to really enjoy our work, the majority of us go to work to get paid and so an obvious benefit of training on the job is that you will earn a wage. The absolute minimum you would earn in your apprenticeship would be £2.50 per hour, but
