First and foremost, on-job training gives you the chance to immerse yourself in your chosen sector and experience and learn the skills necessary to the industry you are interested in. Working with experienced staff, you’ll get the chance to observe how the job is done, before trying it for yourself and being subjected to constructive criticism to encourage you to develop your skills.
If you’re the sort of person who finds it easiest to learn things by doing them first-hand then you’d be well-suited to an apprenticeship. Employers put a lot of effort into making sure you get your hands dirty and do a great job on training you to a level where you feel comfortable carrying out tasks on your own.
