GROUP A
1. What are some of the similarities in the revolutions that took place in North America and France in late eighteen century? What things did these revolutions strive to change and how successful were they overall? Give specific examples from Chapter Twenty-Two in the textbook. How are these useful to understand the importance of the American Revolution? Professor Freeman begins to discuss the five top tips about fifteen minutes into the lecture.

1. Why did the Industrial Revolution begin in Great Britain? What advantages did England have in producing an Industrial Revolution? In what ways did this event bring about the growth of new social classes (pages 804-805) and new lifestyles?
2. The early phases of the Industrial Revolution were extremely difficult for most workers. Describe some of the difficulties faced by workers during the early years of the Industrial Revolution. In what ways did the lives of workers begin to improve during the middle 1800s? (pages 808-810)
