I had the chance to visit the renowned RR Donnelly’s Sam Houston Parkway location here in Houston, Texas. Celebrating their 150 year anniversary this year,
Donnelly was founded long ago in 1864. In the beginning, the Lettmore family were the original owners, who were then bought by Wallace who in turn was bought by Donnelly.
With their corporate office located in Chicago, Illinois, Donnelly is a print, digital and supply chain solution company with locations across 14 different time zones. President and CEO of the company, Mr. Thomas Quinlan III has expanded Donnelly to beyond
North America, with locations in Latin America, Asia and Europe. It is the largest digital printing company here in Houston and last year, brought in sales between $11.6 and
$13 billion, thanks to Humberto Duran, their VP of Sales who aims to grown the local business. The Houston location, which spans up to 300,000 square feet, is very strong in digital print, possessing 3 full heat set web presses, which produces high volumes or product. This location is 1 of 70 plants in the global print division and is the 3rd largest plan within Donnelly. Some of their clients range from Shell, Apple, and other Fortune
500 companies. Speaking of Fortune 500 companies, Donnelly ranks 268 in the Fortune
500 listing of America’s corporations. There are over 65,000 employees, 300 of them located in their Houston plant. They take great pride in their workers and invest in leadership development programs.

While at the plant, I toured their facilities, which had 5 sheet fed presses, 2 iGEN printers, 3 black and white docutex, and 3 black and white web presses. Donnelly also has full service logistics and shipping departments. At their Houston location, they make as well as mix their own ink on an industrial level. They acquire hundreds of jobs per month and has over 200 clients per
