A Thing of Beauty
“There is no exquisite beauty without some strangeness in the proportion”
-Edgar Allen Poe-
Beauty encompass the normal vision that people have like a beautiful women, a field of flowers, sunrises and sunsets, the relaxing sounds of the ocean and so forth.
One can write libraries full of books about these beauties, but no one sees the exquisite beauty in ugly.
A thing of beauty can be deadly, dangerous and deceiving. Like a pretty rose, it is attractive and often pleasant to smell but it is surrounded by thorns which, when picked, causes pain. The fairytale Snow White depicts this fantastically. The most beautiful woman was the most evil. “Beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes right to the bone” – Dorothy Parker.
All creatures were created by God and to him they were all beautiful, even the ones we regard as ugly. As Confucius said “Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it”
Animals that are hideously ugly, Blobfish, Aye-Aye, Naked Mole Rat, Horseshoe Bat, Spiders, Snakes, Vultures, Hyenas and many, many more are all there for a purpose. Spiders and Bats eat insects and that keeps their population under control. Snakes eat rodents. People think of Vultures and Hyenas as mangy, diseased and disgusting because they eat carrion. Yet that is what keeps the fields clean of diseases that would kill off the other animals
No matter how ugly someone or some animal may be, the babies of these are always beautiful, gorgeous and awe-inspiring, just think of a new born. You want to cuddle a Hyena pup or a Vulture chick because they are oh so cute and adorable even if their parents are repulsive.
Natural disasters like tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are ugly and heartbreaking occurrences but nature has a way of healing itself. Trees will grow again, plants will flower and humans and animals will procreate again and life will go on. Anne Frank once said “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy”
Death is also devastating and ugly,

There is a cliché quote that people say, “Beauty is in the eye of beholder.” But in the essay “The Ugly Truth About Beauty” (1998) Dave Barry argues about how women who spend countless hours on their so called “beauty” whereas men seem not to care. Barry uses juxtaposition and exaggeration to poke fun at men and women behavior and shed light on the harm that the beauty industry is doing. When Barry argues his point of his essay he addresses both genders, but more specifically teenage to middle age men and women, but he writes about it in a humorous and light-hearted manner.…

The common physical beauty is what Elaine Scarry called “a symmetry of everyone’s relation to one another” in her book called On Beauty and Being Just (1999). This means that beautiful subjects or objects are evenly proportioned and ideal in all their forms. In other words, if symmetry is perfection, then beauty is perfection too. At the same time, as absolute symmetry does not exist- beauty is a divine feature of “chosen”. Meanwhile, I have my own interpretation of physical beauty. This is the idea of beauty that is not just a physical appearance of a person or object. This is the universal “beauty” I was talking about in the introduction of the paper. In my opinion, physical beauty that relates to the beauty of objects or subjects…

There are many pros and cons to being ugly. A pro is freedom (Westerfeld 89). An ugly can do whatever, whenever they want if they do not get caught. For example, Tally escaped from Uglyville to live a normal free life in a free town, called Smoke. On the other hand, there are cons to being ugly. If someone was ugly, Pretties would not accept them (26). If an ugly entered New Pretty Town everyone there would tell them to leave, and the ugly would possibly be arrested. For example, when Tally enters a party in New Pretty Town all of the Pretties were rude to Tally and wanted her to leave. Uglies have freedom, but on the other hand they are not accepted.…

When you look in the mirror, do you see “beautiful”? Did you know that there’s a kind of beauty that isn’t tangible? Beauty is more than one might think; it is more rare. Those who have seen it know it to be something that cannot be captured by a photograph, it must be told by a story. If it has not been clear yet, beauty is not by any means physical aesthetics, but rather it is the actions that make-up an appealing disposition. Through the centuries, so many have wrongly credited beauty to be a person’s looks. The inevitable problem with that kind of beauty is the ever changing idea of what it is, and how it fails to express true beauty.…

“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it (Confucius).” In The Samurai's Garden the characters struggle with their sense of beauty in different ways, it either builds them up or tears them down. Beauty is seen through many different aspects in The Samurai’s Garden, it just depends on the eyes of the beholder. People see beauty in different ways for different reasons. For example, Matsu found beauty in nature, Stephen found beauty in simplicity, Tomoko found beauty in youth, and Sachi found beauty in life. However, there is more to life than being beautiful, as shown in The Samurai’s Garden. In The Samurai’s Garden, Gail Tsukiyama reveals that beauty does not define a person.…

I personally believe a person or an object can be identified beautiful if the precipitation of beauty process involves “perceiving mind, act of perception of beauty and if the object it self is attractive with new forms of ideas.” [8] Is it possible for an object to be considered beautiful? I believe it could be considered beautiful because nothing is perfect and perfection does not require others to remember something. Perhaps that’s why Marc Jacob said “I always find beauty in things that are odd & imperfect - they are much more interesting.” If you disagree with we then answer my few question: “Does a flower know it’s beautiful”, “Is the moon beautiful to itself”, “That is, does beauty really from part of the beautiful object?” [8] These are some doubtful questions philosophers have asked others for centuries. One answer to these questions is that beauty is just a justification of perceiving of ideas and forms of an object or tool, in that case its perceiving thoughts rather than an object. “Beauty is not the entire prerogative of the object called beautiful; nor can it be said that it is enough to have a mind alone and there need be no abject to apprehend beauty.” Therefore, Margaret Hungerford said it is “beauty is in the eye of the…

Beauty could be defined as an outward apperience.According to William Shakespeare(1588) “Beauty is bought by judgement of the eye”. A lot of people cave into beauty as being a thing they look at. Beauty is something that brings their eyes happiness like Stendhal(1871)said, “Beauty is the promise of happiness”. They lust after someone because of the pleasure they see out of the situation. They might not know it but they are looking at if you have straight teeth, a "normal" size nose, how defined your cheeks are, how sharp your chin is, how much you weigh, how fit you are, the shape of your body, and a lot more. To me, I feel this is the wrong way to think. I might on occasion do this but it is not right judging people like that. God made everyone equal and they should all be treated equal.…
