A Person I Admire
Do you have some one that you admire? Do you have someone that you look up to? I’m sure you do. Most people I know do as well. Generally people admire someone that is related or close to them. But I also know people who admire someone that they have never met personally such as a super star musician or athlete. Let me tell you about someone that is very close to me and that I admire more than anybody else because he is someone I spend time with every day.
The first thing that I admire about my dad is his ability to put others before himself. No matter who it is, I have noticed that he will always focus on others before he focuses on himself. On his birthday a couple of years ago we had plans to take him out to dinner and celebrate. Well, he got a call earlier that day from someone that asked if he would be willing to help put up sheetrock. Like my dad normally does, he couldn’t turn down helping someone out. He knows how hard it is to put up sheetrock by yourself, so he canceled the plans that we had for his birthday and went to help this person. That’s how my dad is. He doesn’t care what occasion it is or what is going on. If there is someone who needs help, you can count on my dad being there.
The next attribute that I admire about my dad is his knowledge. Knowledge is something that my dad has never been short on. Ever since I have been old enough to pay attention, I have noticed that my dad teaches himself just about everything. Whether its working on a car that he has never worked on before, or setting up an entirely new computer network for any of the companies he has worked for. All he has to do is either work on something or read about it and he will know how to do it forever. I have always wished that it were this easy for me to pick something up and learn it. That’s just another reason why I have so much respect and admiration for my father.
Another reason why I admire my dad so much is

My dad has been my role model ever since I can remember. He has taught so much but the most is to work hard. It is not really always by his words but more by his actions. Seeing him get up at five in the morning and go to work. Then when he was done he would go do a side job for 4-5 more hours and come home and spend time with us for a few hours and go to bed and do the same thing again the next day. See him do this for so long really taught me that if you work hard in life than you can achieve anything you want.…

My father is always pushing me to be the best. Whether it is with school, sports, or even a silly competition, he wants me to be the best. He pushes me harder when it comes to school. He believes that I have a bright future ahead of me, and wants me to make the most out of it by getting good grades and going to a good college. He has never let me settle for anything that is below average. He always tells me that I am not an average girl, therefore; I should not accept anything that is not above average. Not to boast about the situation, but it’s no other feeling in the world like it, especially when you are a young man growing up into adulthood.
