A Pen Friend
Although I have many friends within the country, but I have always wished to cultivate a friend in a foreign country. The other day I was going through a magazine and came across the addresses of many children from the world over who were desirous to make pen friends. I looked for the name and the country that I liked. I wanted a pen friend in the United States of America as I found the culture of that country very different from ours. At last I found the address of Mary who lives in San Francisco. She is Fifteen Years' old and is the daughter of two doctors. Her parents love her dearly as she is the only-child. She wrote to me as soon as she received my first letter and I was very touched by her warmth and friendliness. Mary loves America a lot. She had never heard much about India and she always expresses her surprise when she realizes how advanced India has become. Otherwise people have a very poor impression about our country - a backward, primitive country. I try to give her an objective and unbiased view of my country and her people and she does the same. The result of this honest sharing has been the growth of a greater understanding of the culture and even of Mary herself. I realize that she is a sensitive and loving person. She is extremely lovely to. As she is the only child she writes to me about all her problems and I do the same. We give each other a lot of support although we live so far from each other. Pen friends are a lot of fun apart from being our confidants. They help to educate us and we find ourselves growing into persons whose horizons are as large as the world

This scripture tells that God's grace is enough for her. Then later she brings up Job 1. 15 that says “And I only am escaped alone to tell the News(221).” This scripture is significant to Mary because she feels as though she was alive because she was chosen to tell of the events that occurred during King Philip's War.…

Mother Teresa showed great sacrifice by becoming a nun but, in addition to that she also left her life behind and flew to India. In Calcutta she was assigned to teach at Saint Mary’s High School which was run by the Loreto sisters. Saint Mary’s was a school that taught girls from the city’s poorest families. Mother Teresa dedicated herself to the girls education and always tried to relieve the girl’s pain and suffering through good education. As a result of her kindness and strong commitment to her students education she encouraged them to devote their lives to christ. In a prayer she wrote about the children she said, "Give me the strength to be ever the light of their lives, so that I may lead them at last to you," Later, in 1944 she became the school’s principal. Just like Jesus, Mother Teresa was a teacher for…

The last century-and-a-half has seen numerous accounts of appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Jesus, Himself, is said to speak to a few of the seers. Some of the apparitions have received official approval by the Roman Catholic Church. Common threads running through all the messages are: Jesus has been offended by the multiplication of against His Sacred Heart; and Mary exhorts humanity to prayer and repentance and an increased devotion to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Confession. A simple message, but the alternative, we are warned, is a great chastisement which will befall mankind.…
