A Memorable Birthday
I had one of the best experiences in my life at the age of 12. I remember that was when I and my father went on our first fishing trip together. It was not only a time of bonding for the two of us, but it also was my first experience feeling a sense of peace as I shared that memorable birthday with my father.
My father and my mother divorced when I was 3 years old. We never did get to spend any real time together. I would see him maybe once a month and talk with him on the phone weekly. I really could not understand why my father was not in the home with us and why we did not have a father son relationship, like my other friends had with their fathers. That closeness is something that I had so longed for from my father.
I remember when I was eleven years old I asked my father, why I did not see him as much I wanted. He explained to me that with his work hours it made it very difficult for us to spend as much time together as he would like. I asked my father at that time could we plan a trip together. I told him that I did not care where we went as long as we were together. To my surprise the weekend of my twelfth birthday almost two months after I asked him, he came to pick me up for the weekend.
I can remember him telling me that we were going somewhere really special the next morning for my birthday. I was very eager to know what we were going to be doing or where we were going the next morning. As you can imagine I could hardly sleep that night because I could not help but feel eager to just spend some time alone with my dad. I finally did fall asleep but I still was anticipating the next morning. Finally, my dad came into my room at 5:00 am and told me that it was time for us to go and spend that father son time together. It was my birthday and I was with my father. I was the happiest person in the world. In my eyes this was going to be the best birthday of all times. I

As a result, I was adopted on Michigan's adoption day, which always takes…

Though it was hard growing up with my mom; every few years I would be able live with to my dad. He lived in Washington most of my life: Spokane, Wallawall, and Yakima- mostly because of the army. When I was about eight, my sibling and I would travel to visit him every summer and spend no more than two weeks with him. At first it was pretty easy we could go anywhere and get anything we wanted; we did not have to think of anyone else. When I was about ten, my dad would keep asking what would happen…

So, as I said it was the middle of my senior year. I was out with my best friends, Elana, her little sister Alyssa, and Nicole. We were all out, enjoying our day out, with the sun in our hair, the nice breeze flowing through our hair, and the loud hip hop music blasting some Taylor Swift track. We got to Elana’s house and decide to swim in her pool and relax on this nice day during the week. It was a very nostalgic day, despite what happens later that night. After the pool, we sit in Elana’s room and talk about life and the boys we are currently talking to. We then decide to watch a movie and order pizza. It was perfect. The atmosphere of being with my closest friends was the best feeling of my life. As we talked and giggled, danced, sang and watched movies together we just lived life just cause we can.…

In the summer before 9th grade, things were not going great for my family and me, things in school had been very bad, and things at home and out of school were even worse. At the end of July my mother and I, were looking to go on a trip, to get our minds off of everything that had happened in the past year. We threw ideas around, like going to Vermont, Maine, Pennsylvania, and other nearby states to go sightseeing in. We had almost decided on going to Hershey, Pennsylvania, to go to the amusement park, and see other attractions for a few days, but while looking I saw an advertisement for Universal in Florida. I started looking at plane tickets, hotels, and rental cars. We found an awesome deal, and we booked it. I went to go talk to my friend Chris, on Facebook to tell him I was going, as a joke he said, “Take me too!” I told my mom what he said, she laughed and said “Why not?” I told him to convince his parents because we were leaving in 2 days. It took him a full day, but Wednesday night Chris and his mom showed up to my house with his bags packed ready to go to Florida.…
