A Little Thing Called “FAITH”

In this technological era, there are two types of explanations about our existence that is being believed upon; the scientific explanation and the spiritual or religious explanation. But in every belief, no one must question the other regarding it. Why? It’s something that we call FAITH.

Faith, according to Wikipedia, involves accepting claims about the character of a deity, nature, or the universe. Under the two types of explanations are branches of different aspects and perceptions. Like for instance, in the scientific explanation comes out the famous theory of Charles Darwin – his theory of evolution. In the religious explanation here’s our Biblical sense going out of our hearts – which God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th day.
Most of the population in TIP are Catholics. Our institution is run by Catholic people. Yet, our adviser in NSTP, Ms. Joyce Santos belongs to another religion. In spite of that, we never argued about their faith and their beliefs. Faith all ends up in a little moral value we call respect. Let them believe in their own beliefs.

Faith became a sensual topic in our NSTP001 class last September 12th 2013. Many had their own beliefs about the existence of man, the existence of the world, and if there is truly a man called “Jesus Christ” watching us up above the heavens. Well, here’s a simple answer to all of these debates and arguments in our life; to have FAITH is to BELIEVE WITH NO PROOF NEEDED.

If we truly have faith in something or someone, not just the world’s existence, the human’s existence or our Lord’s existence, but even in one person we dearly love, we need no proofs, no explanations, no concrete evidences for us to believe in them. The fact that we have faith in them, we should not question our hearts on who, what, where, when, how, and most especially why. Because, the moment that you start asking, you do not accept your belief, therefore, you do not have faith.

‘Faith is a personal thing; no one has the right to tell you what to wear’ I agree with this statement as, faith should not have to be shown, if your own standing on a religion is so weak that you have to wear an item of apparel to show that you are a part of it, then perhaps you shouldn’t be following it at all. On the other hand, some Muslims women wear items like head scarfs as a result of their religion dictating who can and cannot see one’s hair, not for the purpose of showing devotion to a…

Throughout Mitch Albom’s Have a Little Faith, Albom writes about what it means to be religious, how religion affects our lives, and how religion can take us on a path toward redemption. Indeed, as Albom intertwines his own journey with those of Henry and the Reb, one can see how the three characters grow spiritually as they simultaneously progress through the book, headed toward capturing a sense of closure. Although all three characters attain a fairly equal degree of fulfillment, they each…
