1. Executive Summary This article studies the feasibility of China Mobile entering into Mymarese telecoms industry. Building on several theories and frameworks, this analysis focuses on the possibilities of expansion into Mymarese market (including country analysis), dynamics of China Mobile’s overseas

    The telecommunication industry that AT&T essentially created has undergone radical advancements, particularly within the last decade. According to the IBM Institute for Business Value, approximately 15% of the world’s population had access to a telephone in 1999 but by 2009, 70% of the world’s population had mobile phone subscriptions (Nelson & van den Dam, 2010). Given the extraordinary explosion of mobile computing and wireless communications, continued advancements within the global telecommunication industry are certain. A number of trends drive this evolution including the advancement of devices and network access technology, changes to users’ consumption patterns and services compositions, a shifting industry structure, and finally the future of regulation in the telecom industry. In order to maintain its position in the ferociously competitive telecom field, AT&T needs to consider these trends and other forces of change to gauge its potential within the market.…

    2-There are several capabilities and resources that drive TeliaSonera`s successful growth in Asian markets. First, TeliaSonera leveraged its decades of telecom expertise developed in Nordic countries in the developing countries of the Eurasia region. The technical know-how and deep customer understanding of the company enabled operations in difficult areas to be smoother and less problematic. Second, TeliaSonera faced certain challenges due to weak institutional settings, especially in former Soviet Union countries in Eurasia. TeliaSonera’s success in its Eurasia expansion lay in utilization of strong business and government ties that were developed in decades throughout the company’s history in the region. Third, the market conditions in Eurasia countries present many opportunities for technology companies. Mobile network penetration is lower in Eurasia than in TeliaSonera’s mature markets, offering a great deal of potential for TeliaSonera’s mobile operations. Fourth, aspect of market conditions is that there is a larger and younger population that is the number one customer group of new technologies and telecom services in Eurasia countries. This provided a huge sales opportunity for TeliaSonera’s telecom services in the region.…
