According to an article from www.marlana.org/beliefs htm, beliefs are the assumptions we make about ourselves, about others in the world and about how we expect things to be. Beliefs are about how we think things really are. Beliefs tend to be deep set and our values stem from our beliefs. Every individual probably has a different type of belief based on their living style or how they were raised. However; that does not make ones belief right or wrong. As a person gets older and learns to develop their own opinion and outlook, their beliefs may change or remain the same. The six resemblance characteristics that I chose were: The Sacred Writing, Life After Death, Conception of Ultimate Reality, Origin of Universe, Nature of Self and View of who has religious Authority. The Sacred Writing: is of all religion such as the bible. It explains the principle of honesty, justice and good morals. An example of this would be the Ten Commandments which are ethical laws in the bible. Sacred writing is very important to me because it’s like a guideline to living your life in a way that God would be pleased with. Life After Death: As a Christian, I believe that there is an after life after death because according to the Christian teaching, the bible states who so ever believed in him shall not perish but have ever lasting life. I was always taught that humans will still have life but on the opposite side. Conception of Ultimate Reality: Some Christians believe that heaven is a place that is filled with joy and happiness. I believe that there will be no pain, tears, sorrows or death once the spiritual body enters the gates of heaven. Heaven is a place that one can rejoice and praise God. On the other hand; according to my teachings, hell does exist because in the book of Revelation it
