Titans
Remember the titans’ directed by Boaz Yakin is a film that demonstrates many important themes. The four that are most important themes in this film are brotherhood, unity, pride and respect. Brotherhood is a relation that the team builds a friendship unlike any other, built out of respect and love. Unity is The state of being united or joined as a whole, Harmony or agreement between people or groups. Pride is seen as sense of one's own proper dignity or value, Respect is valuing an others points of view, It means accepting people as they are respect is and is a major obstacle that today’s society needs to tackle. All three of four themes are greatly displayed throughout the film as this piece will explain

Brotherhood is a theme that stands out from the rest as it affects everyone in the team. In the film, brotherhood is a large-scale issue that is addressed and resolved.
In the film brother hood was not shown in the start because racism was a big effect on the boys and the society they were in. As the movie played on the boys started to realise that it didn’t matter what was on the outside or what other people thought. They formed a strong relationship that was unbreakable.
An example of brotherhood in the film is when Julius visits Gerry in the hospital “Nurse: only kin’s are allowed in here. Gerry: Alice, are you blind? Can’t you see the family resemblance? That’s my brother.’ This quotes shows how strong their friendship has become.
This example of brotherhood is an obvious sign of brotherly affection toward Julius.

The quality of unity is an apparent theme in the film as it shows the Titans are committed to showing this quality, if they put the effort in.
As seen in the movie, Coach Boone is determined to unite the team and as he believes that the ongoing hatred between the different cultural groups should stop. The coach knows that if the team unites they can work better and make the team like a real team.
Boone announces, “Each of you will

When you think of the Cincinnati Bengals you probably think of all the arrests, busts, and bad managing that have taken place in the 90's. I'm telling you the Bengals are on the rise and have changed the ways of their troubled past back to the winning ways of the 80’s. The 1990's and early 2000's were compiled with poor drafts and miss judgment of character in the players they chose, but the past few years the Bengals have proven draft after draft they are stepping up their drafting game. The Bengals faced heavy criticism for filling the locker room with troubled young players. The Bengals were the centerpiece for jokes about players getting arrested and in trouble. For example Chris Henry the wide receiver that they drafted in the 3rd round, knowing that he had a troubled past that even led up to his college days at West Virginia. They unfortunately carried over to the NFL and he got into many bad situations with drug abuse and other situations. Henry did begin to finally turn his life around but sadly his life was cut short in an accident when he fell out of the bed of a moving truck. Henry was only 26. Since then the Bengals have really done a good job in the draft getting good players that have a clean background. Although the Bengals still have taken chances on players that are questionable Marvin Lewis has taken them under his wing and has mentored them and had really helped them turn their lives around, in example Adam Jones and Vontez Burfict. In doing so they spend very low round draft picks on them. Burfict is a perfect example of this. The Start of this kid’s senior season he was a lock for the first round. Burfict did not take the game seriously though. In essence he selfdestructed. Getting into trouble with the law, and in games he got called for many unnecessary roughness calls and cost his team plays and yards. By the time the draft rolled around his draft stock had…

The theme of brotherhood in Seal Team Six shows the bond that these men have and how they work side by side no matter how tough things get for them. “After helping take off my gloves, they changed me into some sweats and drove me to a Wendy's where we ate” (10). This shows the theme of brotherhood in how they made sure Wasdin was okay and took him out for some food because they appreciate him as a person. This has helped lead up to that from previous situations when Wasdin helped them in some way or another. The theme of brotherhood is shown in several different ways throughout the novel. Another example would be “The spotter identifies, ranges, the targets, and relays them to the sniper execution” (6). This shows it in a…

Ricky Williams, a NFL player, once said, “ A team takes on the personality of the head coach.” If one were to construe the meaning of this quote, then one would look at Coach Jim White and the McFarland cross country team. The kids of the McFarland cross country team were known as pickers in the past, but Coach White was able to edify them into the cross country state final champions. Because of the characters Coach White possess, the McFarland cross country team was able to win the state finals. Coach White is a key character in the movie because he demonstrates responsible, strict, and caring character.…

Due to these they lost a game, because in the filed they didn’t work together as a team. Other example is when the players understood each other on the film and didn’t understand each other outside the field, for example when sunny asked them to come with him to a restaurant and the black boys got offended and insulted by the restaurant manager. They were told to go and eat at the back where cabbage was thrown because they were seen as lesser people. One of the climax in the film is when the film was about to end at the last game when the Black Hand and the white hand were holding the ball up together. They were trying to show that they have all won together as a one team. The final resolution in the film was when they all came together as one at Gerry’s funeral. A lot of these things that happened changed the community, and also the individuals a lot because after winning the state championship the community became as one. The Boone’s family were finally accepted into the community, it also had a change in some of the main characters including Gerry and Julius at the beginning of the movie they were both very prejudice because of the community they lived in. This changed overtime as the movie went on due to some of these complications like the scene when they had a fight and then after the fight they both…

The director represents characters empathetically, manipulating audiences to perceive critical dilemmas favourably and agree with the decisions of the characters. These techniques are also used to capture the oppression of the black community and position audiences to understand these issues. The usage of cinematic and literary devices such as metaphor, plot, characterisation, camera angles and shots, audiences come to acknowledge racial conflict. Finally, through this emotionally moving cinematography, ‘Remember the Titans’ shapes how society experiences moral issues and reacts to the dilemmas that stem forth from…

Probably one of the best movies in the early 2000s, not only because it is a fantastic story about the glory win of a high school football team. It is the movie “Remember the Titans”. In my opinion, “Remember the Titans” shows that it doesn’t matter where you come from, which skin color you have, or even how smart or strong you are. You are always respect as a person. But there are a lot of ethical decisions made in that movie, because of that different mix of persons and the time it plays in. I’m going to explain three of the ethical decisions that people made in “Remember the Titans.…
