Zodiac Killer: Arthur Leigh Allen or Mystery Man
Who was the deadliest killer of the late twentieth century? The Zodiac Killer operated in northern California during the late twentieth century, killing at least five known victims. The killer was able to send letters to newspapers without being caught. Many were suspected to be the famous Zodiac Killer, but nobody has ever been identified to be one of the most well-known killers of all time. Even though many people believe that the Zodiac Killer was someone such as Richard Gaikowski, Ted Kaczynski, or a multitude of other suspects, there is evidence proving that Arthur Leigh Allen was the Zodiac killer, based on his actions and similarities to the patterns of the killer.

For example, he had a watch with the same symbol on it that the Zodiac Killer used. Investigators discovered he had similar codes to those of the serial killer (“Zodiac Killer”). In addition, a typewriter, which was the type of machine used to compose the letters sent to multiple newspapers, was found in his home when he was arrested for a disturbance. He was fascinated with the idea of hunting people, showing he had characteristics of a serial killer, according to psychologists. Allen had also been fired from many jobs for inappropriate behaviors, and missed work around the time of the murders, specifically the Bates murder ("The Allen-Zodiac Connection"). In addition to that was the Bates murder ("The Allen-Zodiac Connection"). Police found that he was in the area, Riverside, the same time the murder happened. At the time Allen was working at an elementary school. That year he only used one of his available sick days, November first, the day after the murder of Cheri Bates. Even though this is circumstantial evidence, it is known that the behaviors or a serial killer change during periods of activity. The killer could become erratic, moody, smoke/drink more than usual, and miss work. These behaviors were displayed in Allen once in a while, according to his brother.
