The epic poem, Beowulf, has three battle stories. Zemeckis shows more details and adding to the battles. In the battle with Grendel's mother it shows Beowulf getting seduced by her while ("from Beowulf" 47) the book Beowulf kills Grendel's mother. The purpose in ("from Beowulf" 47) is good versus evil and in Zemeckis is the sin of father.     Beowulf is loosely divided into three parts, each of which centers around Beowulf’s fight with a particular monster: first Grendel, then Grendel’s mother, then the dragon.
