What are the major factors that lead to smoking among young people in Lowmans Hill?

Reason for selecting the problem

It has been observed that smoking is commonly practice among youths in Lowmans Hill community. Added to that, many of the young smokers are between thirteen and fifteen years old. This trend can have a negative effect on the future of the community since these activities have been associated with social illness such as violence, teenage pregnancy and school drop outs amongst others. I believe that finding out the causes for this problem is a first step on solving this problem.

Method of Investigation

Method of Investigation used is “The Questionnaire”. The questionnaire can be used to gather a lot of information in a short time and also can focus the research on specific areas such as age, family and education.
