Your Brain on Porn
Is there any presence of a cause and effect relationship on the mind of individuals who watch pornography and masturbate? Pornography is an adopted term, it was not of the english language; actually, this term derived from the French word “Pornographie” that frequented in the 1800’s (Wikipedia). Many known pornographic cast members view themselves as actors or even icons but in Greece, the origin of “pornographia,” their profession is defined as a written illustration of prostitution (Wikipedia). Does porn exhibit a digital euphoria or provide its viewers with a gateway to mental destruction? Will pornography be the world’s digital meth or new leading cause of domestic violence? By scientific research, dopamine plays a major role in a human perception to result in positive emotion. When too much dopamine is released it causes a “high,” this intrigues a person to repeat an action to constantly achieve the enjoyment as drugs do; in turn, the vision transfer into your long term memory and solidify the brain and result in no release of dopamine. Dopamine malfunctions branch out to ADHD and Parkinson’s disease (suhaibwebb). Similar to digestion, the eyes consume and disseminate the content and the brain can not always choose what to keep and thow away due to power of pornographie’s emtional content as it hijacks the brain and fabricates it (equip). Joe Carter states, “ the abundance of internet porn is an example of the Coolidge effect; where males exhibit renewed sexual interest if introduced to new receptive sexual partners, even after refusing sex from prior but still available sexual partners (gospel coalition).” Stockman reflection on porn is that it takes away the face value of a real naked woman with this quote: “ For the first time in history, the images’ power and allure have supplanted that of real naked women.
