Ymateb y pab i bolisiau crefyddol
“Gwnaeth ymateb y Pab i bolisiau crefyddol Elisabeth fwy o niwed i’r berthynas Lloegr a’r pwerau Catholig nag unrhyw ffactor arall.” Trafodwch. Anghytunaf gyda’r gosodiad hwn- credaf fod ffactorau eraill pwysicach a wnaeth effeithio fwy ar hyn na’r Babaeth. Er hynny, rhaid cofio fod gan y Babaeth mwy o rym yn y cyfnod hwnnw na sydd yn bodoli heddiw. Roedd dylanwad y Pab yn arwyddocaol i’r Reciwsantiaid, ond nid oedd yn golygu llawer i Gatholigion dros Ewrop I gyd gan fod yna resymau eraill a gellir eu dadlau dros y dirywiad ym mherthynas Elisabeth â’r pwerau Catholig, megis y gwahaniaethau crefyddol a gwleidyddol ym mhlith gwledydd, a heb anghofio Mari Stiwart. Bu tri Pab yn y cyfnod 1568-1588 yn broblem i Elisabeth, sef Puis X, Gregory XIII a Sixtus V, sy’n dangos nad oedd y Babaeth yn gwbl ddi-rym. Roeddynt yn dangos gwrthwynebiad ac yn creu trafferth i Elisabeth. O 1567 ymlaen doedd Catholigion Cymru a Lloegr ddim yn cael mynychu gwasanaethau Anglicannaidd, ac roedd hyn yn un o’r rhesymau pam y bu iddi droi yn erbyn y Babaeth, gan y byddai wedi gallu achosi problemau mawr iddi, a hithau eisiau osgoi gwrthryfel yn ei herbyn. Ond, ni wnaeth hyn unrhyw niwed i’r berthynas rhwng Lloegr a phwerau Catholig eraill. Y pab, Pius X a wnaeth esgymuno Elisabeth, sef rhyddhau Catholigion Cymru a Lloegr o’u teyrngarwch i Elisabeth yn y gobaith o ehangu’r gwrthwynebiad. Roedd y Babaeth yn ymwneud â chynllwynion yn erbyn Elisabeth, megis Cynllwyn Throckmortion a Ridolfi, sef cynllwynion i ddisodli Elisabeth a rhoi meddiant y goron yn nwylo Mari Stiwart. Yn ogystal, o 1580 ymlaen dechreuodd offeiriaid Jesiwtaidd gyrraedd y wlad- roeddynt yn gweithio i’r Pab ac yn ceisio dod a Chatholigiaeth yn ôl. Dengys hyn sut roedd y Pab yn erbyn Elisabeth ac yn ceisio gwneud popeth i’w thanseilio a disodli ei grym. Roedd gweithredoedd y Babaeth yn gwneud Elisabeth yn amheus o’r pwerau Catholig. Roedd y Babaeth yn cefnogi polisiau Sbaen er mwyn cryfhau eu safle a gwneud y wlad yn

In order to find out if the Roman Catholics were in fact a serious threat to Elizabeth and her church the essay must be split down into two main sub-sections, one to discover whether Catholics were a threat to Elizabeth herself and the other to decide whether they were a prominent threat to Elizabeth’s Church, however there is a very fine difference between the two as the majority of the rule of Elizabeth and her threats such as that from Spain were dominated by religion.…

During the sixteenth century there where many conflicts which occurred between Catholics and Protestants. The Kings and Queens of England especially kept on changing between both religions. This made it very difficult for the people of England to choose a religion because laws kept on getting changed in regard to practicing religion. When Elizabeth I became Queen she became the new defender of the faith, thus making Protestantism the official religion. One of the harshest parts of Elizabeth's reign was the whole Mary, Queen of Scots, ordeal. Mary was Elizabeth's cousin and next in line to the throne. Of course Mary was Catholic and that is what made the whole issue an issue. This paper will talk about Elizabeth's involvement in the tragic story of Mary, Queen of Scots and the events which led to the execution of Mary.…
