Xacc/280 Week 1 Self Reflection
During the first nine weeks I have learned an immense amount about myself. The multiple intelligences, learning styles, and 16 personalities tests have taught me to understand myself and how I learn. When reviewing the results I noticed extreme accuracy in every field covered, including, how I learn, communicate, develop relationships and see myself. There were subjects explained that I had never before considered about myself so it was interesting to see how people similar to me perform in those areas. Results of tests have begun to improve aspects of my life that I did not know needed improvement. The learning style survey informed me that I am a solitary learner, although I was aware of this previously the conclusions drawn were still beneficial …show more content…
In friendly environments it is not simple to develop a meaningful relationship because of differing interests, beliefs and thinking strategies. When a friend presents us with an issue we tend not to offer as much emotional support as we do strategies to solve the problem. While to us a strategy to solve the problem would be the best thing for us to hear, for most others they desire someone to be there for them emotionally and help them to work through emotionally rather than rationally. It is entirely possible to have a wonderful relationship with an ENTP but it is important that the other person is aware of the potential for tension and offense. Struggles in personal relationships with debaters can be improved by limiting conversation topics and by willingly working on communication. In the professional environment it is easier for debaters to thrive if they hold a position of power or, a job that benefits from our rational thinking. When these conditions are not met keeping a job is nearly impossible for an ENTP because we are seen as disrespectful or a disruption to progress. This is why it is imperative to learn to argue points in a respectful manner, consider all points equally, and to collaborate with a diverse group of

The company I chose to analyze is WorldCom. This company based in Mississippi had recognized that for several years it has been bloating or increasing their earnings through booking about $3.8 billion expenses as long-term investments rather than operating costs. They did that by posting operating expenses such as salaries and wages as long-term investments on the balance sheet while those costs should have been expensed and posted to the income statement. When they did that, they overstated assets while extremely understating expenses. This led to an overstatement of net income; the company then devalued such costs which led cash flows, profit margins and net income to be affectedly inflated. Given the fact that those are the key measures used to value the company’s stock, the company’s stock was highly overpriced.…

As you can see in the Linden percentage columns they are significantly less profitable than the Industry. With the EBIT we can see that Linden is less profitable than the industry standard. Linden has a very good interest rate, because its borrowing less, in the end that could hurt them in terms of leveraging the return on equity. Look for excessive executive salaries and bonuses, lavish travel and entertainment expenses, money spent on acquiring other companies, and any other expenditures that aren’t strictly necessary to run the business.…

I obtained a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Norwich University in 2011. Through the U.S Army I received training to certify as a member of a Company Intelligence Support Team (CoIST). This semester in my Interpersonal Leadership class I have learned a lot about myself that were already pointed out towards me but never really never pay any attention to. We have taken several different inventories and personality test. For example in the Myers Briggs Personality (I think this would be my favorite test )test that I have a INFP stands for introvert, iNtutive, feelings, and perceiving. When breaking them down into percentages 50% introvert,22% iNtutive, 28% feelings and 27% perceiving.…

Through the evaluation of the Learning Style Inventory, the results confirmed some of the personalities that I already knew about myself and some of which I was surprised to know about, both as a learner and a writer. The results showed that I am an independent, pragmatic, verbal, emotional, and both a concrete and an abstract learner. As an independent learner, I agree that in such situations, like writing a reflection essay for example, I would mostly prefer to work alone than working with a group of people while sharing thoughts and ideas because knowing myself, I know that my mind process best when I work alone. It is when I am alone and in a quiet place that…

During my readings at the University of Phoenix, I arrived at discovering learning styles and how understanding your own style can be the key to grasping control of a successful education. The process of which touched on the subject of self-awareness and how assessment tests could help you to reach the level of understanding needed. In chapter 2 of "Keys to College Studying: Becoming a Lifelong Leaner" (Bishop & Carter & Kravits, 2002), it was stated that, "Many different kinds of assessments give people a method of self-discovery, providing different means of exploring strengths and weaknesses, abilities and limitations." (p29). After completing a couple of assessments as covered in the chapter, I found myself to have a logical and adventurer personality style with strengths in being skillful in a variety of fields that make use of my abilities to organize materials logically, explain things in sequential order, analyzing information, and hands-on problem solving to name a few. These strengths are not only evident in my line of work as a welder, but in the way I live my personal life and the way…

The “Who Are You?” self-assessment (Bethel University, 2014) was insightful and reinforcing. It brought to light several areas for improvement and maturation, as well as areas that can possibly be leveraged to improve the weaker areas. I have taken other self-assessments in the past, and like them, some areas I was well aware of, others were more subtle after an honest and critical evaluation.…

Looking back on my experience I can honestly say that I have acquired some important skills that will stay with me forever. For example managing my time, the first time that I took the test I score seven yes and five no. I took it today I score ten yes and two no, so I believe that I have master the art of time management. I always try to get everything completed from my to-do list. I have a calendar in my room that I keep important event on it and I check them off as I complete them. This helps me to keep track of the accomplishments that I have made. Being here in this program I learned how to meet my responsibilities, for example in my apartment, I’m not a lazy person so when I use something I clean it. Or when it’s my day to take out the trash I make sure that it’ completed, same as the bathroom I clean it with no complains. It’s all about maturing and being independent, the only…
