Lab 4: Identify Motherboard Components and Form Factors
Task 1: Procedure
2. Using Internet Explorer, locate information on the LGA 1156 connector. What processors is it used with? What is its purpose on the motherboard?
LGA Stands for Land grid array It works a a few processors such as the Intel Core i7,i3,i5 Xeon, Pentium, Celeron. The purpose of the LGA 1156 Is to connect a processor to the motherboard.
3. Using Internet Explorer, locate information on the Intel H55 Chipset. What processors is it used with? What is its purpose on the motherboard? The Intel H55 Chipset utilizes the 1st gen. Intel i core series CPUs integrated graphics capability.
4. Using Internet Explorer, locate information on the Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H motherboard. What interesting information can you find?

It is great for charging Apple Devices with by turning On/Off Has a easy BIOS Setting Has 3x’s the power for USB for great USB usage
It has 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 graphics interface with ATI Cross Fire X support for graphics performance.
Task 2: Procedure
2. Using Internet Explorer, locate information on the AMD 770 Northbridge Chipset. What processors is it used with? What is its purpose on the motherboard? Phenom Series made by ATI, It’s use is for performance for the graphics
3. Using Internet Explorer, locate information on the AMD SB710 Southbridge Chipset. What processors is it used with? What is its purpose on the motherboard? Socket AMD/AM2 Processors, AMD Turion II Neo/ AMD Athlon II Nero, AMD Turion Neo Athlon Nero and AMD Sempron Processors, It’s purpose on the motherboard is to provide graphics and display to the computer and video decoding.
