Wrong is still wrong even if everyone is doing it, and right is still right even if no-one is doing it.

“Wrong is still wrong even if everyone is doing it, and right is still right even if no-one is doing it.” As a young child you grow in age and wisdom being trained and molded by your guardians where they will discipline and teach you responsibilities. The quote by, St. Augusta, “wrong is still wrong even if everyone is doing it, and right is still right even if no-one is doing.” Simply means that an individual must own up to their responsibility rather than follow the line of someone else. Responsibility is a characteristic that can make any individual successful in life. No matter what you do, whether at work, school or home, having responsibility and acting responsibly are key traits. When someone is responsible, they are accountable for the things they say or do. For example, you are in class and your classmate are being disrespectful to the professor, you think to yourself if you should follow along with everyone else or do otherwise and take the responsibility of being respectful and learn the material. An individual must learn to gain control of them in order to stand for something in life. People must understand and gain knowledge that just the whole group walks down one path does not necessarily mean that they are going the right way which gives the individual the upper hand of setting their own path and direction. If you’re going out with your friends and you see the guys who have their pants half way down their butt does not mean that is the right or appropriate way to dress, it just mean that they lack manners and self-appearance. There are many people in the world that lacks the skills of self-control so they allow themselves to be controlled by the image of others. When you allow matters such as this to occur, that single individual then lack the knowledge of knowing what is wrong and right which means you then lack the skill of responsibility.

If your action is just mouthy and without action than it is not responsibility, it turns into word without action. I tell my son or daughter that education is the key to success in life, therefore; they must go through college to achieve a higher degree in something. If I do not have some type of credentials or degree they would look at me in a difference perspective. They still treat as a father but not a mentor or an educator aspect point of view. So being responsible I have to lead by example by follow through with my action. "Monkey see, and monkey do" Children are like that, you have to do the action then they will…

    Personal Responsibility

What does personal responsibility mean? To me personal responsibility means that I am responsible for what I choose in life. I have to hold myself accountable and cannot blame others for the choices I make. Jake Lawson wrote on the Livestrong.com website, “Accepting personal responsibility includes but is not limited to: acknowledging that you are solely responsible for the choices in your life and accepting that you are responsible for what you choose to feel or think” (Lawson, 2011). That statement is very profound and powerful. It is easy to place the blame on others but all that really does is hold us back from finding our true potential. We cannot use scapegoats to hide the fact that we possibly make bad decisions in life. Whichever direction my life heads, I am the captain of this ship and I cannot let others control what I do. I have control over my emotional responses to outside interference and must live with the consequences of my actions. In the Pacific Philosophical Quarterly 89 (Issue 4), 497-515, Dana Klein wrote ‘people are responsible when they act with the ability to do the right thing for the right reasons, or a good thing for good reasons.’(Klein, pg. 497) What exactly does that mean? It means that if we choose not to do the right thing or make bad decisions, they have not shown personal responsibility. I have to be willing to improve myself professionally, academically and personally in life. I can never be complacent or else I will never accomplish more and…
