Freewriting is like an unstructured outline, and once you determine the specific ideas you'd like to pursue, you can dispose of all other irrelevant information. 2. Researching is another important component of prewriting. Once you determine your topic, you will obtain information from outside sources such as encyclopedias, the internet, books written on the subject, in order to form the basis of, and be as accurate as possible, in your writing.
