Writing Process Reflection Paper
In the writing process my greatest concern would be the revising phase. After my first draft is completed, I ought to make a decision ways to improve my writing. It requires looking at my writing at a different point of view. I need to analyze my writing to look for clarity and decide if I need to add information. Furthermore, I essentially need to decide if my writing peaks my reader’s interest and be believable. I have to look at my writing at a different point of view and APU writing center session suggested is to read my writing out loud during the revising phase for sentence structure clarity. The issue with writing that I struggle with is subject verb agreement. I though I was the only one struggling with this issue. However, learning

My name is Christy Hitt. I am a mother of two wonderful daughters who are now grown, married and have children of their own, and yes that makes me a grandmother. I travel with my husband as his job requires him to do. I work with a physician on a remote desktop and have access to the business computer wherever I go. I have been working in the medical field for fourteen years now. The medical field is rapidly changing in every aspect of the word. It is getting harder and more stressful to try and figure out all the changes on my own. I talked with my husband about possibly me going back to school to obtain more knowledge in medical billing and coding. My husband thought this would be a great idea and backed me 100 percent. The only worry was how I was going to handle my fulltime job, moving every three to six months to a different state, taking care of our home in Florida and school work. My husband assured me that we would figure out a way that we could accomplish this and make time for me to study. So, I started my online studies with Penn Foster to obtain my Associates degree in Healthcare Management. I wake up around 4:30 in the morning to help my husband get ready for his day, which would include getting the coffee going, making lunch and of course trying to wake him up; the man sleeps like a rock. I then have to get myself ready for my day. As I am booting up my computer, my Internet goes out, how convenient. Now, I have to call the cable company to come out as soon as possible to get it fixed, as my work and school both require me to be connected to an Internet service. I start by calling the patients and reminding them about their appointments for the following day; this can be time consuming and often takes a good part of the day as we see approximately fifty patients a day. I can see the insurance aging is getting behind and that is something I have to work on today, as this is how we get paid. I also have to do re-credentialing for our Medicaid and…

I think the most important part of the writing process is formatting because without the proper formatting the reader wouldn’t be able to know what direction the context is going in. I can use this writing process in the future by using the correct formatting so that not only can the reader understand my view against the subject but also because a correctly formatted writing lets the reader know that you know in great detail what your subject is about.…

After reading the article “The Composing Processes of Unskilled College Writers” by Sondra Perl I have been forced to understand how writers write. The writing process is a situation that is approached from various angles. In the writing process techniques and sequences from person to person are often diverse, but it is one of the ways one may be expressed. The goal of Perl study was to “see how unskilled writers write, can their writing process be analyzed in a systematic, replicable manner, and what does an increased understanding of their process suggest about nature of composing in general and the manner in which writing is taught in schools.” (191) With Perl performing this observation and collecting several amounts of data I decided to perform an observation on my writing by paying close attention to how I write. With analyzing I realized that my writing process have a very sequential pattern. I also have noticed that many acts of critical planning and editing are carried out through many of my writings and it has had a negative effect on the majority of my writing masterpieces. Subsequent to carefully critiquing my writing I have realized that all individuals have a different way they write.…

Initially I began with an extremely broad topic mainly because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to focus on yet, but also because there was so much that I wanted to work with. Meeting with my group in class the first time allowed me to further narrow my focus, and meeting with them the second time helped me ensure that I was keeping my focus. The latter was especially hard for me because at first I was trying to juggle four different texts (the fourth being a student panel I attended) simultaneously. However once I realized how impractical that would be I decided on just using three texts: Densho, Roxworthy, and Capshaw. Finally, the editing of the blog though tedious was certainly an innovative and fun new way of using to technology and combination with our coursework!…

Many people engage in community service project because they are either forced as a punishment or sentence. Others engage in community service out of Spirit of unselfishness, or a desire to connect with their communities by helping out. For me, it brings a sense of completeness. During the past few semester my team members and I have engage in different projects, Collecting food, clothes and donating to the homeless. In a way I’ve experience working the different organizations and helping the community. But with this particular project, it meant much more then collecting for the disadvantaged, It was about lending a hand and your heart to a community in need.. During my involvement in this fieldwork project I got the opportunity to offer my unconditional assistance for one day in a non-profit making community based project. The name of the project was Liberty City Construction, which is being undertaken by a Christian ministry organization whose aim is to improve the livelihood of low-income families through building affordable and decent houses at a 0% interest rate. EN101: English Composition I, was my first college class. With mixed emotions, both excited and nervous, I knew it was important for me to do well in the course as it would set the tone for all of my upcoming classes. So, with great determination to gain new writing and reading comprehension skills (and a little apprehension), I signed up. It is no secret, even as far back as my high school English days, I never liked anything dealing with punctuation and grammar. My reading habits, over 15 years after graduation, are still fairly poor. One of the greatest accomplishments in life, however, are overcoming your fears and strengthening your weaknesses. This course, week in and week out, has helped me with both of those goals. After reading over my writing from throughout the semester and comparing it to the course tasks, it is clear that I have learned a lot. My style of writing has greatly improved and finally, after years of disdain, my views of English and writing have changed.…

I believe that I wrote the narrative well. I was able to successfully draft my ideas, review and revise them, rewrite my draft into something publishable, edited my work to put the finishing touches on it, and finally reread my finishing product. Although I did not collaborate with any one and made them critique my work during my writing process I did use someone to bounce ideas off of because I was unsure of what I should write about. This social aspect of the writing process is definitely helpful for those with writers block. Although the audience of my piece was intended for one person my writing is clear enough to be understood by a wide-range of people and can be accessed through many technological mediums. In my writing I utilized pathos…

This first chapter is based on challenging and exploring your conceptions about writing, reading, and research. My ideas about writing before reading this chapter were different from what I realized now. Growing up writing was always my second favorite subject, behind math. I felt like my work was never proficient, and sharing my writing made my vulnerable. I hated how my work was graded. Most of all I disliked the lack of feedback I usually received. Most of the time it left me unable to progress my skills and has hindered me. To me feedback is very important, and is not just a grade but rather comments, ideas, questions and concerns that helps a writer with their work and also progress their knowledge. I feel most comfortable writing when…

The writing process does not end with your first draft. Revising means “seeing again” and that is exactly what you do when you revise—you see your writing again from as many different angles as possible. More specifically, revising your writing means working with it so that it says exactly what you mean in the most effective way. Revision involves both content (what you are trying to say) and form (how you deliver your message). Revising content consists of working with your words until they express your ideas as accurately and completely as possible. Revising form consists of working with the organization of your writing.…

Revising has always been part of my development process for writing. When I was taught by my high school teachers to use “linear structure” in AP Language and Literature, I felt my ideas and skills were restricted. Like Nancy Sommers states in her essay, “Revision Strategies of Student Writers and Experienced Adult Writers,” I too believe that the process of rewriting is not only an opportunity to edit technical errors, but also to “discover meaning altogether” (384). The original drafts of my first two essays were merely a translation of outlined ideas into vaguely structured paragraphs with multiple grammatical errors. I highly value revising because the more I reconsider aspects of my essays, the more clearly I understand how to communicate…

    * Presnky, in his infamous article “Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants,” coined the notion that the youth are digital natives and the older generation digital immigrants.
