Writing Course Reflection
During this course I have actually learned how there are a lot of different types of papers. When I first started writing I was told you have, persuasive, expository, and narrative essays, but in reality there are so many other types of way to organize and attack a paper. When entering ENC 1101, I honestly hoped to receive information on different ways to write a paper and the many different types of way a paper can be organized. I was also wishing to be taught how to research information for a paper and how to cite that information properly. Most of all, I wanted to see if my writing skills would continue to grow in different areas. When starting a new paper the slides that explained the type of paper we were going to start writing as a class …show more content…
I feel as though I have so much I want to say, but making sure I say it correctly without extraneous words and clumsy phrasing is an area that needs work. In addition, I never realized how there is so much to research, but making sure it is not biased or it is a scholarly work is quite difficult at times. Pushing all the required details for an essay is a thing I tend to worry about last minute, just to make sure it is in the essay. This leads me to lose focus in some areas of the paper, because instead of planning correctly I just force them in the essays, which makes it lose the significance of the organization of the paper. Also, I have never spent long periods of time making sure my papers are close to perfect, and doing that would most likely would increase my scores even further. The reason I wait last minute is because writing under pressure tends to get the juices and ideas running through my head and my fingers wont stop. Whenever I try to start a paper early I usually end up starring at the paper or computer screen for hours and nothing gets completed. I do aim to try and get all my information to put it in an outline, which would probably make my life a lot

In my opinion, it is very challenging job to find a balance between providing adequate pain medications for suitable candidates and preventing these medications from being misused and abused. Providing care with a holistic approach will allow an FNP the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with their patients. As a result, they can easily monitor patients' use of opioids over time and frequently assess patients' conditions to determine the need for continuing pain medication. Even more important is the need to educate patients about the benefit and the risk when using opioids as well as how to properly discard unused medication. Last but not least, an NP should keep up with current research for alternative pain management such as…

Over the course of this year in English, I think my writing process has excelled the most along with my overall writing. In the past, I have used similar techniques to develop a final essay, but, this year, I have begin to rely more heavily on planning out and slowly chipping away at my essays and papers. I believe also that because of this planning the strength of my writing as a whole has grown. Personally, I do not think that I grew in my vocabulary usage. Overall this year, I grew as a writer in ways that I would not have predicted.…

In school, we have been required to write many papers on many different subjects, some being timed and others not. Writing has never been something that has come easy to me, especially when put on the spot and told to write a paper in a certain amount of hours. When I write, I like to have time to think and plan my essay. Being able to revise and edit the paper makes it even better than it was before. When I am given the time to plan my essay, the writing has more depth than when I am put on the spot and have no time to think about what will go into my paper.…

We know that to effectively deliver sanctions the message needs to be simple, clear and non-negotiable; in practice it is easy to get caught up in a lengthy argument or confrontation. Focus on moving in, delivering your sanction as discreetly as possible and then moving out quickly. Choose a phrase that you will withdraw on 'I need to see you working as well as you were in yesterday's written task, thank you for listening' or 'I will come back and give you feedback on your work in five minutes'.…

A thorough analysis of my experience in Writing 101 taught me many things. A major takeaway from this class is never to overestimate my abilities. While taking this course, I was also trying to handle two other classes, a full-time job, and a hormonal teenager. I feel I personally overestimated my abilities. Prior to taking this course I did not have a strong background in writing or English for that matter. I honestly feel writing is my weakest subject. I know I will have to retake this course. When I do retake the class, I will undoubtedly ensure I do not have any other distractions. I must take this course as a stand-alone class. I also will make certain this be a face to face course. I feel the lessons in this course are exquisite. However, I should have asked for help sooner. I now…

Through taking taking this course. I believed to have gained some valuable insight into how I think, and as to how exactly and clearly I write down my thoughts.
