Write a short story about a main character who undergoes a change or learns something
About six years ago in the small town of Union Springs, Joshua and I had one heck of an adventure. It all started because of this old creepy house that was behind our own. We were only nine and 12 years of age; my brother being the oldest. This being said, the curiosity of a youngster began to set in. For years upon years, we stayed clear of this house. At night, the house made scary noises as the wind blowed through the broken windows. One night, my brother walked into my room and told me with a confident voice, "I got a plan to get into the house." The next morning, I heard Mom and Dad talking about visiting their sick parents. They told Joshua and I that they were leaving for a day. We thought nothing of it; mom usually left enough food for us to eat on for a day. Besides, this was not the first time we stayed at home alone. Hours after my parents left, I heard my brother in my dad's closet. I asked him what he was doing he said, " I am getting prepared," and he was getting a gun. I rushed into my room and got my switchblade; I told him that I was ready. So we began to walk to the old, beat up house. We knocked on the door like two idiots, even though we knew nobody stayed there. Joshua kicked the door down, and a gust of cold wind hit our faces. We began to look through the house, and suddenly, we fell through an old wooden floor. Believe it or not, we landed on over $500,000 of cash. Shocked out of our minds, we started rolling in the money and throwing it into the sky; what any youngster would do. It turned out that the house behind us was a drug house of money. Who knew, but the story is not over just yet. Soon after, we suddenly heard a car pull up in the driveway of the house. Two gangster-looking type of guys slowly got out of the car. One with what appeared to be an empty sack. "Could it be that they are coming for their money," I frantically asked my brother. He slowly pulled out my dad's AR-15 from behind his back and cocked a bullet into the chamber. "Yeah, man it looks like they are," my brother said. My brother was always a fast thinker; he always was four plays ahead of you. So, he told me to run out the back of the house and call the cops. So, I ran as fast as I could without being seen by the two crooks. About five minutes later, I heard rapid gunfire coming from the house. I began to run to the house frantically, hoping it was not my brother. As I opened the door, I saw, on the floor, the two crooks were dead. Seconds after the cops came and told us that they were on these guys trail for over two years, my brother told them that they shot at him first. Also, that we discovered $100,000 under the house. Moreover, to make a long story short, we walked out of there $400,000 richer. Don't ask me how he did it; I just knew that he always thought ahead.

The story started when one night I snuck out of my house to go to a party, as a result, that night I slept over at a friend’s house and found a ride home the next morning. When the car pulled into the driveway the morning after, I thanked the driver and walked up to my front porch with a sly smile to greet my obviously frustrated parents. As my mom ushered me to sit down on one of the chairs on our front porch, I know that nothing good is going to…

Four years ago, on a normal Thursday school night, I was sitting in my room doing my homework and my aunt came bursting into the door saying my brother was kidnapped. I did not want to believe what I heard and kept asking her to repeat herself. I ran outside of the house and screamed because my emotional pain became so hard that my stomach felt like it was tied in strong ropes and I was ripping apart, I was devastated because my only brother was gone, I didn’t know if I would ever see him again, I did not even have a chance to say goodbye. I was angry at myself, at the people that took him. Life seemed impossible to live during the days he was kidnapped. The amount I have changed as a writer is unbelievable. The biggest change is that I no longer loathe writing a paper. I feel as though it comes more naturally than before, and I can now make complete sentences easier than ever before. Another thing that has changed is how quickly I can write a paragraph before I would struggle getting a cohesive thought on a page, but now writing a paragraph that relates all together in some way is easier. All of this brings me onto my next point.…

My parents had decided this was the perfect place to raise me and my brother who is two years older than me. But then, as I thought things were just fine, On one summer night I heard noises in my parents’ bedroom and I overheard my favorite hero crying in the bedroom and saying he needed to tell us something terrible had happened. My father had to take him back to India when they found out he diagnosed. I sat there not understanding what had happened and hearing my hero in tears for the first time. When I was 17 it was 1995, I went on my first real date. We were going to see First Knight. The boy in question was the friend of a friend and I had only ever talked to him on the phone. He said he would pick me up at 7 and we would catch a movie. So far so good. 7 rolls around and he isn't there, he calls and says his Dad is running late so they won't be there till 8. I didn't realize his Dad was driving but whatever, I am withholding judgment. 8:30 they show up and he knocks on my door and I go out to join him. He leans in for a kiss and I lean very far back and awkwardly stick out my hand to shake his hand. He doesn't act like he knows what to do next and he is just staring at his feet and his Dad is staring at us and time just crawls. We finally just painfully walk to the car. It is not immediately apparent where we are going to be sitting. Now, this dude's Dad was HUGE. Not just his weight, but his entire freaking frame. He barely fits in his car. He has the driver's seat all the way back and in the front seat next to him is a cage of living breathing birds. The back seat is really only half a back seat because his Dad is filling so much of the car. I look at my date and look at the car. My date seems to have come to the same realization that there is really only one seat. I squeeze into the backseat while my date squeezes into the front seat with a bird…
