According to Life Science and Medical News, (December 3, 2013), Herpes was discovered in Ancient Greece by Hippocrates, who documented the symptoms. Herpes is a viral infection known for thousands of years. There are two types of Herpes viruses: Herpes Simplex 1 (HSV 1) and Herpes Simplex 2 (HSV 2). Throughout the world HSV 1 and HSV 2 are common and usually involve infections of the skin and or mucus affecting the face and mouth genitalia and other body parts.
