Good evening,

Thank you very much, Regan, for introducing me to Professor Kohn!

I am quite excited to further pursue DOCC's goal of open dialogue once on campus. Nurturing a viewpoint-tolerant environment gives me hope for the future, wherein I hope that both mine and my fellow peers' viewpoints are questioned. While many college students are left-leaning, I firmly believe that all students should feel free to share their opinions.

I have long been intrigued by the role of economics in fostering this atmosphere. Thus, I look forward to delving deeper into economics during my time at Dartmouth, as well as being intellectually challenged both inside and outside the classroom.     Today in America many people question whether or not college is truly worth the stress, time, and cost it throws on an individual. With these “burdens” comes alienation from the outside world with little fun and fulfilling experiences. Some people even say that many college students have zero creativity, and are proud of it. All together in her one sided- argument, she includes several rhetorical devices to persuade, inform, and emotionally prove her claim.
