My Personal Worldview
Does God really exist?
Yes God really does exist. There really is no proof in the Bible that someone had actually seen the face of God. In Genesis 32:30 Jacob said “for I have seen God face to face”, but we can not be certain that Jacob actually met God face to face. When Moses asked to see God’s glory, he is told “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live” (Ex 33:20).Even though we do not have visual proof of God’s existence, he does exist. The first example is in astronomy. Astronomers have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that the universe did have a beginning. There was a single moment of creation. How about biology? Molecular biologists have discovered vast amounts of information encoded in each and every living cell, and they have discovered thousands upon thousands of skillfully designed machines at the molecular level. The information requires intelligence and design requires a designer. Mathematicians have stated that the odds against life arising from non-life naturally via unintelligent process are astronomical. Scientists are not even sure that life could have evolved naturally. So if life did not happen by chance, how did it arise? Inside every human we have a set of morals. Where did these morals come from, who gave us a conscience? There has to be a lawgiver and that is God. When you look at how perfect the creation of the world is and how perfectly everything is working together, there has to be a God. Look at the human body. There is no way that the human body was made by chance. There had to be a creator, and there is a creator and his name is God. What is the character and nature of God?
One character of God is He is a lover. In Isaiah chapter 43: 4 God said “because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you”. The one verse in the bible that truly shows the extent of God’s love is John 3:16. Is there any higher love then letting your son die for the salvation of others? Another characteristic of God is that He is a righteous judge. Psalm 7:11 calls God a righteous judge. Again in Psalm 96:10 it says “He will judge the people with equity. God is spiritual. John 4:24 Jesus affirms that “God is spirit” and thus His people should worship Him “in spirit and in truth.” With Jesus making the statement that God is spirit means that God is spiritual. God does not have the same physical limits that we as humans have. God cannot be killed or destroyed. Three times in the book of 1st Timothy Paul wrote that God is immortal. God is eternal. He was here before the formation of the world and he will be here after this world ends. In Psalm 102: 24-27 the psalmist sates that “in the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.” The psalmist also states that “they will perish, but you remain.” God will remain the same for eternity never to change.
How and why was the world created?
The world was created by the spoken word of God. Throughout the creation narratives in Genesis chapter one, the words “and God said let there be,” and it was done. God had an idea of what He wanted and spoke it into existence. The world was made with such perfection that all the other theories can’t be true. The theory of evolution sates that first living organisms appeared as single cell objects and then evolved into complex organisms through natural selection. In natural selection the organism must survive its natural environment in order to reproduce, this will clear out the weak, and only the strongest would survive. This theory cannot be truth because there had to be a starting point. How did those first organisms arrive on earth, they had to be created. And plus there is no proof that this theory could work. When my five year son asked me what I was doing sitting at the computer I told him that I was working on a question for this paper. He then asked, “What question daddy,” I...
