Worldview Assignment-Apologetics 101

I. Mentioned by Prussian philosopher, Immanuel Kent in Critique of Judgment (1970) it was translated as “worldview” in the 19th century, as Weltanschauung described as “our intuition of the world.” (pg. 50) as stated in Consider by Dr. Weider& Gutierrez. Like a telescope; a representation of our perspective on life.

II.

1. The Question of Origin – For any Theists, those who believe God was the actual creator and shares intimate relationship with those created in his image, Genesis 1:1 defines of how the world originated in the Christian worldview in Consider by Weider & Guttierrez (pg.56). In that first chapter of Genesis it explains in detail of those six days of all that God created. Like (Dr.) Weider& Gutierrez take from scripture in Pslams 139:13 David himself declares the existence of God as the One true Creator of this universe because of all that God had revealed to David; his faith in God was strong.

2. The Question of Identity – As Christians Theists view God as the Eternal One that created mankind other than Gods angels. Pslam 8:5 explains this as Gods children being so special they were created in Gods image and just beneath His angels. Genesis 2:5 explains the responsibility God gave over His children for all of His Creation. It even explains the animals and the earth were not to be worshipped but taken care of whilst being thankful for what God provided for His children.

3. The Question of Meaning/Purpose – For Naturalists and Panthesists, notice there is not an exact explanation as to why humans were created, why they exist and the real purpose of having a relationship with God. Christianity isn’t just a set of rules you simply follow, it’s about creating a deep and intimate relationship with the Lord himself because He created you for a purpose which Judaism and Islam fail in their attempts to interpret correctly. John 17:3 has it down to a T about knowing the actual God you’re serving and what Christ did for all His children. John 14:6 explains how only through Jesus and believing the sacrifice he paid on the cross for all Christians will Christians find salvation for their sins and have eternal life.

4. The Question of Morality – For Christians it’s the moral values of right and wrong. Christians believe that man is born a sinner because of Adam as Genesis 3 explains when Adam acts against Gods wishes and takes the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge that Eve offers to him after the serpent (Satan) tempts her. While Judaism belief is through good works do they earn their “ticket” to eternity with God. But that’s not the case as Ephesians 2:8-10 explains that only through Christ can you be saved.

5. The Question of Destiny – For Christians there is only two places; Heaven and Hell, where either the Christian is rewarded with Gods blessings in Heaven because of their acceptance of Christ and relationship with Him as Revelation 21:1-7 states. Or those who have chosen to not believe in Christ are eternally separated from God forever and live with the punishments of their sins in Hell Rev. 20:11-15 specifically inquires. While good deeds are an important significance to Christians, it does not define their means with God they view it as “good works as a result of their salvation”. Christians see it this way, they’re given their whole lives to commit to God which is fair; God gives His children their whole lives to decide whether or not accepting a relationship through Christ or be separated from Him forever once their time of passing comes.

II. 1. The way I view the world is of course the way Theists do. I believe that only through Christ am I saved and that any good works I do for others comes from Christs love inside of me. Jesus said to be a light to others which includes how we treat and speak to others. Jesus loved even what were considered the outcasts and daily I try incorporating that into my life.
