World War II

I decided to choose the topic about World War II because I watch a movie about it and it was the deadliest conflict in human history .I did my research on the internet I used Wikipedia , time line , History place , and Google at first it was Confusing because there is so much to write about, I did not know where to begin, then I decided to concentrate on the casualties of the war because of the numbers of civilians that died.
World War II killed more people, involved more nations, and cost more money than any other war in history. Altogether, Estimates for the total casualties of the war vary, because many deaths went unrecorded. Most suggest that some 60 million people died in the war, including about 20 million soldiers and 40 million civilians. Many civilians died because of disease, starvation, massacres, bombing and deliberate genocide. The Soviet Union lost around 27 million people during the war, including 8.7 million military and 19 million civilian deaths. One of every four Soviet citizens was killed or wounded in that war. Germany sustained 5.3 million military losses, mostly on the Eastern Front and during the final battles in Germany. Of the total deaths in World War II approximately 85 percent—mostly Soviet and Chinese—were on the Allied side and 15 percent on the Axis side. Many of these deaths were caused by war crimes committed by German and Japanese forces in occupied territories. An estimated 11 to 17 million civilians died as a direct or indirect result of Nazi ideological policies, including the systematic genocide of around six million Jews during The Holocaust along with a further five million Slavs, homosexuals and other ethnic and minority groups. World War II was truly a global war. Some 70 nations took part in the conflict, and fighting took place on the continents of Africa, Asia, and Europe, as well as on the high seas. Entire societies participated, as soldiers, war workers, or victims of occupation and mass murder.
World War II cost the United States a million casualties and nearly 400,000 deaths. In both domestic and foreign affairs, its consequences were far-reaching. It ended the Depression, brought millions of married women into the workforce, initiated sweeping changes in the lives of the nation's minority groups, and dramatically expanded government's presence in American life.
It’s very sad to know that because of greed for territories and land , or the show of power by the leaders will result in human being disaster and can’t justify or explain by any mean the loss of all those millions of lives .
