Working In Mrs. Sheppard's Class
Self Reflection Working in Mrs. Sheppard's class has been a great learning experience for me. I feel that the areas in which I need to work on would be knowledge of the job, initiative and attitude. Those are some of the things that I need to work on the most and will try hard to continue with this with the rest of my time in the class this year. Although I have some weaknesses in some aspects of the ability in the job I feel that I have neither done great in them or completely failed those would be adaptability, accuracy, personal appearance and cooperation although they are not completely be they could have some improvements in those areas. With some weaknesses I also bring to the table my great ability to have common courtesy, attendance

When evaluating the weakness competencies from the reasoning aptitude evaluation I found that I had six areas of improvement. These areas consisted of leading, presenting, writing, delivering results, adhering to values and followings instructions. These results were quite surprising and I realized that some improvements need to be made. In order for one to be a successful manager, leader, and team member, improvement always needs to be made. The area that needed the most improvement was following guidelines and following instruction. These both are basic communication skills that need improving. There are some…

    - During my experience I believe that I showed all my strengths when working with the residents. My internal strengths showed that I am an outgoing person. I love to interact with a diverse group of people. I got to work with each individual and get to know a personal aspect of their life. I really enjoy helping others and putting a smile on peoples face. In the sessions when I see that a resident wasn't in a good mood or upset I would always make a joke or dance to help them smile. I showed my passion to help others in each session when my residents needed help or further explanation with the activity. I showed courage and determination when I believed in my clients and trusted in them to give there all in the activity they participated…

I have learned that I can manage in situations which have uncertainty. The field of human services is versatile and here are many ways we can work collaboratively with other organizations to provide effective services. It is trying to change the way we have been doing things based on mandates and because of the lack of funding. The population I have worked with was mostly adults and youth who were facing issues around addictions, family conflicts, and mental health. I think I would be interested in learning more about how to deal with family dynamics. The strengths I see in myself, are with being able to outreach, working with multiple teams and making connections. My weakness is that sometimes I am afraid to take upon extra responsibility with the fear of not doing the job well. I enjoyed being part of drop-in parenting group and facilitating workshops. I am not too sure where I fit into the working world yet, as my ideas are constantly changing with the exposure I receive from my placements, supervisors and colleagues. I would like to gain more direct client experiences that are important to my future growth and…
