Work Ethic Is Divine Analysis

Work Ethic is Divine I strongly believe in teaching children about hard work. As a child growing up, my parents taught me the importance of a strong work ethic. Fortunately for me, my parents were sure to instill in me the mindset needed to be a productive member of society. Because my dad did not see me as much of a “thinker”, he showed me how to use a shovel, an axe, a pick axe, and many other hand tools. Since he was a hard worker himself, I know he wanted me to gain the same level of work standards he had.
Some of the work I did as a child included: washing the dishes after dinner, cleaning my bedroom, and making my bed every day. On our small five-acre farm we had cows, horses,

After all, that’s a lot of chores to keep up with. Of course I complained, murmured, cursed under my breath, and even wrote “I hate my mother” on the back of my dresser. On the weeknights and weekends, I snuck out at night in rebellion to all the rules and chores, but never stopped to thank them for the things they taught me or did for me. Kids! Why can they not see the blessings of what their parents are providing for them? I soon realized, after I was grown and left the house, everything my parents taught me about work ethic was going to pay off. Thanks to everything I learned from them, I was able to use my skills to gain employment. Thankfully, I was able to do those things I was not willing to pay someone else to do for …show more content…
In recent years, after my conversion and baptism, I began to insert the gospel into the equation. Because of the changes I have made in my life, I have always taught them education is important and love and respect are at the top of my list. Our oldest daughter recently called me and told me she is very grateful for the life lessons I taught her about having a strong work ethic. She told me she is doing well in her job and is thankful to both me and the Lord, for helping her in her life. This is when you know, as a parent, you have done a good thing. That your kids will be okay, being an adult in the world.
In Abraham 3:11, we see the Lord’s example given to us: “Thus I Abraham, talked with the Lord, face to face, as one man talketh with another; and he told me of the works which his hands had made.”
The Lord has shown His light, as usual, on the path he wants us to take in order to emulate our master and our Savior. By reading the scriptures, we know we are commanded to teach these things to our children as well. As parents, we hope all our lessons of hard work, love for others, charity, respect, and love of the gospel, will cling to our children’s hearts. If we do our part, we shall be blessed by the Lord for our obedience. This I believe and say in the name of Jesus Christ,

A typical day for ranch children began at 5:00 AM. Certain chores needed to be completed before the family and ranch hands had breakfast, including hauling water from the well, feeding the horses, and collecting wood for the stove. The children then walked to school. Some attended a one-room schoolhouse with a teacher, while others gathered at a neighbouring ranch to be taught by mothers and relatives. The children were at school for about four hours before returning home to work on the ranch. The younger children fed and cared for the chickens, goats, or pigs. Older children, about 14 years or older, worked with the adults to harvest…

During the Industrial Revolution children worked extreme hours in very bad working conditions for very low pay, even less than what adults were paid. The Idea was that children were useful as laborers because of their usually small size. It allowed them to move in small spaces in factories or mines where most adults wouldn’t fit. They were easier to control and manage compared to adults. These children were most likely working to help support their families…

As previously stated I work for a private school that provides housing and education for children that come from poverty. Leviticus 25:35 says, “If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and are unable to support themselves among you, help them as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you.” (NIV). While this verse specifically refers to Israelites, I believe this applies to our everyday lives and is the attitude I express every day. By interacting and supporting these children on a daily basis I feel as though I am playing positive role in their lives. Not only by the school providing them with the opportunity, but by approaching interactions with them in an image of God teaches them a lesson that will give them tools to live a productive life. Proverbs 22:6 further supports this notion, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (NIV). Showing respect and manners when interacting with children can provide them with invaluable tools as they progress through their lives. It would be irresponsible to interact with these children any other way. By conversing with them in a way that sets a positive example I feel as though I am lifting their spirits in…

It started in high school, I was the cool athlete and he was the not so cool, smart kid. He finished being third in his class for grade point average, then continued onto college and graduated magna cum laude and finally went to PA school and graduated the top of his class. Now all of that hard work has paid off because he loves his job and he’s making an astounding amount of money. It took me…
