FEMALE EDUCATION
OR
EDUCATION FOR WOMEN

The backwardness of a country depends mainly on the percentage of illiteracy. This percentage is fairly larger among men in the world, but it reaches calming figures in the case of women so, for the progress of country, education for women is very essential.

“Man and woman are two wheels of the cart of society the cart cannot run properly, if one of the wheels is defective”.

Woman form half of the population of a country. If such a large portion is denied the privilege of education, the country is bound to tag behind.
Women play a very important role in a society so; there are many advantages of education for women. A woman must be conversant with the duties as a citizen of a state. She has to be aware of the part that she had has to play in the development of a nation. She must understand her responsibilities towards herself, her family and her country. And to know all this, she must be properly educated. Women cannot become good citizens if they are uneducated.

“An educated mother can serve the country in the sense that she can produce good citizens”.

Education can improve a lot the unfortunate state of affairs. An uneducated woman cannot be a good wife. She will be paging and quarrelsome. She will not be able be understand her husband properly. There will be no understanding adjustment which is so essential for a good married life. She can tolerant and accommodating. So, for being a good wife also, education is very necessary.
Thus the education for women is very essential, but all women do not need the same type of education as is imported to men. There are many who are to say at home. To them such useful subjects as nursing, domestic science, hygiene and embroidery should be taught. These subject can be more helped to them, than higher mathematics, political science or economics so, education on the proper lines.
