Do you are now living the latest house or older house? We eventually have a family house which was built in 1913, it's pretty old. If we purchased the master showed us newspapers that they had found if they redid the living area floors, original papers to 1913 if the house was built. It had been really interesting to find out the advertising that they had. A vehicle was super cheap, men's suits were $10, times were sure different back then.

Our house's wiring is older too because of this. It's been modernized since that time but it gave us an opportunity to consider more modern possibilities for example track lighting and wall sconces. We now have done both into a degree in various rooms in the home.

We put a theater within the upstairs above the garage as well as the track lighting is perfect with the area to showcase some of the more interesting features. However in the living it absolutely was appropriate to get a classier look and lighting options such as candle sconces are fantastic to the. They don't require special electric outlets since they will be simply candles set carefully in the sconce that hangs on the wall. They are actually beautiful. I found them at our local floral and housewares store. Buying local has its own advantages. Pretty decent price, too.

The sconces I picked certainly are a dull copper color and we can put any shade of candle in them we wish. It functions best with tall tapers, although shorter ones work, too, as long as the candle base fits into the hole. Otherwise the candles will fall

In life it seems that we always told to take advice from grandpa because he has lived a long time and is wise. Grandpa is the go to person for when we have a life issue. My grandfather is a very wise man. He has learned lessons from life instead of just thinking he was getting punished. He always tells us grandkids and great grandkids that everything happens for a reason; a reason to learn from. My grandfather’s name is Vernon and he is in his late 80’s. Grandpa always has a reason behind everything he does. He always helps us by talking through our problems with a logical and reasoning view. Grandpa has always helped me to look at both sides of possibilities and apply things that I already know to the situation before making a decision. Grandpa always has listened to what we have to say and he isn’t against taking advice from the younger generation. He always says that he values our input and he will store it in his knowledge bank for future reference. Grandpa is very humorous along with being logical, he always seems to be able to make light of most situations and can help us look at it from a humorous side of we end up making a bad decision. (Normally, because we didn’t go to grandpa about it before hand.) The best advice I have ever gotten from my grandfather is, when you are making a decision think about 6 months from now, or even 6 years, what is the outcome from both sides; and can you learn from your choice either way? Throughout his years grandpa has always held a positive mind frame and laced life with humor, he always asks what we learned even if we faced a consequence. I believe that my grandfather is one of the wisest men in the universe. Grandpa always learns and uses past knowledge before making a decision. Grandpa always had been there it help us with his wisdom and knowledge of life’s great lessons, he has also helped us to install some of…

Isn't my house classic? The columns date all the way back to 1972. Wasn't my Mom a betty? She died when I was just a baby. A fluke accident during a routine liposuction. I don't remember her, but I like to pretend she still watches over me.…

Quite frankly, my house in Eureka and my house in Chicago aren’t that different from each other. Both houses have a basement, a ground floor, and an upstairs floor. The Chicago had a small backyard and an even smaller lawn. The only key difference was the surrounding houses and the fact that there is no spot to park your vehicle. The house is Eureka looked archaic as it had fading white paint and a antique building structure. In the weeks following, my grandfather told me that the house is over 100 years old!…

The four most important lessons that I have learned this season are, have to assemble a helmet, how a football practice is run, how a football team travels, and how important an equipment staff is to a football team. The first lesson is how to assemble a helmet. Every game this season we wore either a different helmet of changed the decals on our most notable white helmets. Having the ability to say on my resume when applying for jobs in the football industry that I can assemble a helmet is extremely important. I know how to take a facemask off, how to put a new one on, and the most important aspect of a helmet are the decals. When the game is on TV it is extremely important to have decals that look clean and that are all placed the same spot…

I have always known my brother was different. From the day he was born he was hooked up on beeping machines and glow fingers, he wasn’t on them for very long but enough to make me always remember the way they sounded. I knew he had a scar on his chest, I knew he looked different from me. I always just wanted to know why. I would never know why until middle school.…

One of the life lessons I learned is to always be thankful for the people around me and not take them for granted. Unfortunately, many people, including myself, tend to not appreciate what we have until we lose them entirely. Then later, there might come moments in our lives when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them out from your dream and hug them for real. Only then, it'll be too late to go back. I did not experience these until my grandmother passed away.…

    Wisdom Sits in Places

Although places are the backdrops for the activities of a culture, and place-names serve as reference points for these locations, both are socially constructed and this construction takes place in large part through language. Basso brings attention to the dialectic interplay between the construction of place and the definition of community for the Western Apache. While a relationship with the landscape exists to reinforce the cultural ideology of the Western Apache, such would not be possible without the same ideology shaping the perspectives of the landscape (how it is experienced and regarded by the people) in the first place.…

There are two meanings to the proverb “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.” One is literal and the other is metaphorical. The literal meaning is that thirsty horses often hesitate to go into rivers and creeks because of their fear of water. The horse owners would take their horse to riverbeds but the horse would be reluctant to go into the water to drink. The metaphorical meaning is that someone can get great advice or opportunity but you cannot make them take advantage of or utilize the great advice or opportunity they are being given. You can help someone as much as you like, but if they do not try or do not help themselves, then they will not succeed. The water symbolizes a tool that can be used or ignored. The tool can be anything- opportunity, advice, knowledge, etc. There is a good or bad choice left to that someone and the choice is if they choose to take advantage of the tools they are presented with.…
