Woodinville: A Personal Analysis
I grew up in a town in Washington, right outside of Seattle, called Woodinville. In this town you either had a great amount of wealth, or you were poor - like my family. A lot of the other kids in my schools growing up would talk about how their parents took them to do stuff over weekend breaks; all I could talk about was how I went exploring through the forests- spending a lot of time alone. My mother had divorced my father and got custody of my brother and I, so she was always working. My older brother became a drug addict over time, pushing me to go to my escape from reality in the woods more and more. I loved it, until I had to grow up and learn to prioritize responsibility and shenanigans in the

One significant experiance in my life has been my dad being in the Millitary. My dad was in the Millitary for a short time of one year before he decided it wasnt for him. But in that one year we moved two times. We moved from my hometown of Anacortes Washington to California. I started school and things werent that bad, I made friends and had a park right across the street from my house! life was good. But then we had to move again, to Arizona. We moved from sea side California to the Arizona Dessart. This is where I was really challanged, I didnt make friends as easy as the first move. We moved from a spacious town house with a park to a tiny appartment with no backyard. I distanced myself from my parents and everyone else in my family, I…

Are ludicrous legends, or do they give us insights to the nature of our world? Some people think ludicrous legends are old fiction tellings, but they give us insight to the nature of the world. Myths are fiction, but they have lessons for us to learn. Not all myths have well being lessons, but we should pay attention to what they are trying to tell us in the story. I lived in a small town named Harlem, and it was nice in the summer, but it ends up getting too hot in the summers. Most people here are people hanging out windows, people on fire escapes, and anywhere trying to get a cool breeze. Harlem was a town that you could get a job for a day and that's it pretty much it. I loved playing the saxophone, so I tried to use that to get money but it didn't work as well as I planned. My dad says I should get a part-time job, but I wanted full time to get extra money. I finally got a job at this business and I finally thought it would have been great. Then after awhile, it started to get harder to wake up and get to work. Then I meet Fats and that's when everything went south. Fats was someone that had a bootleg…

Growing up in rural Kansas was boring. Especially since I grew up in the seventies. There were no cell phones or game systems to occupy my time. My family had an old black and white television set. I loved to watch The Price is Right in the days before Bob Barker’s hair turned white. After the show was over, the only way to kill time was to play outside and wander down to the creek that ran parallel to our property. There was a secret trail buried in the wall of trees that lined our two acre yard. My brother and I would slide down the trail, landing on the dirt banks like explorers on a mission. Sometimes we would hunt for crawdads under rocks. Other times we would take our poles and fish. We never went into the water after the time I got bit by a gar.…

Living in "the hood" in Weslaco,TX surrounded by my entire family was really a fundamental thing in my life. I was exposed to drug dealers, prostitutes, violence, fights, police raids and shooting while growing up in the projects. The excessive exposure was normal for us kids, to be surrounded by it all was just a way of life for us. As I got older, I began to hate growing up in the projects because I realized how different my upbringing was compared to my classmates. I was jealous of my friends with functional families, married parents, siblings in college and a house that was paid off. In addition, I noticed how different I was from my friends in the projects. I enjoyed school and doing homework, them on the other hand, disregarded homework to play outside. It was at that point when I realized I wanted better for myself, my friends and even future…

The fallen log in the back of my house was used as our tree fort. As a small child, it was a place where I spent a considerable amount of time by myself, with my younger brother, or with my friends. This was a place to go, out of the great boundaries of the yard, and into the unknown woods. At the time at least, that's what it seemed to be to us. When we were younger, exploring our surroundings was a great adventure. From this, we developed and controlled our own unique surroundings and environments to enjoy our separate freedom from the restrictions of the adult world. It was an important part of our, and especially my, growing up experience.…

My name is Justin Firpo and I grew up in a decent sized town called Fullerton, California. Let me backtrack a second. I was born in Dallas, Texas, but raised by my adopted parents in Southern California from age 3 months until 18 years old. Fullerton was your standard definition of a town for people who were of the upper middle class to the lower upper class income classifications. This paper is being written with the intent to describe to you how my upbringing at a very early age, my own secretly kept views, and later events in my adolescence has shaped me into who I am today.…
