Colleges and universities should encourage students to engage intelligently with ethnic identity so they can best contribute to our shared world.
Women’s Rights, are rights that promote of legal and social equality of women with men. The beginning of the fight for women’s suffrage in the United States, which entry into Congress by nearly 70 years, grew out of a larger women’s rights movement. That reform effort evolved during the 19th century goals before focusing solely on securing the franchise for women. The first gathering devoted to women’s rights in the United States was held July 19–20, 1848, in Seneca Falls. A look back at history shows that women have made great strides in the fight for equality, including women’s suffrage and inroads in equal opportunity in the workplace and education. Despite that women made tremendous progress in the struggle for gender equality, women still face violence, discrimination, and institutional barriers to equal participation in society.
