What are some of the strengths associated with the Pro side of the issue? What are some of the weaknesses? Strengths associated with the Pro side of the issue is that a woman can opt out of work to take care of her family. It is proven that women generally make less money than men do in the workforce. However, if a woman stays home, it saves the money for the family for babysitting costs. A woman can stay home and take care of the home because most women that were talked to saw that housework was seen as women’s work. There are many milestones that can be missed when a mom is at work. There are many days where a woman feels torn because she feels like she should be with her child, and others where she feels she needs to be at work. It’s a tough situation to be in because when staying as a working mother, the time with the child has to be sacrificed in order to provide for the child financially. The weakness to this is that in a stable household, both men and women should share the responsibilities of the household. Also, the woman is essentially putting her career in the backseat to assume the role of a housewife and mother.

In deciding to stay at work, it shows that there is work ethic, and that extra income to make sure the child is well taken care of. In staying at work, it also gives the mother time to decompress from being just mommy, and gives her a chance to assume her identity in society.
