Expression of Hope and Pray
Hope is used to indicate something that might happen or might happen. So, hope expression is an expression that used to indicate something that might happen or might happen.While wish is used to indicate something that is definitely not going to happen / not necessarily happen. So, wish expression is an expression that used to indicate something that is definitely not going to happen / not necessarily happen.
There are two key words that ussualy used to express the hope and pray, they are :
S + hope and,
S + wish.
Example of hope :
I hope (that) she'll like these flowers.
Her mother hoped (that) Judith would become a doctor.
I hope (that) you won't think me rude.
I hope you'll enjoy good health and every happiness in the 21st Century.
Another example of hope in dialog.
Gina : “Hi, Jean. How are you doing?” Jean : “Bad.” Gina : “What's wrong?” Jean : “My father got sick. He has to stay in the hospital for a few days to get medical care.”
Gina : “What happened to him?” Jean : “He got cancer.” Gina : “I'm sorry to hear that. But you still go to school?”
Jean : “Yea, my mom told me that I have to go to school. She is in the hospital to accompany my dad.” Gina : “I hope your dad will get better soon.”
Jean : “Yea, I hope so.”
Example of wish :
I wish I were a millionaire. (the fact he/she was not working)
I wish I could go to Japan. (the fact he did not take any action)
I wish I had enough time to finish my work. (the fact I don’t have enough time to finish my work)
I wish the weather would be better. (the fact the weather is bad)

Jane : “Oh god, when math test yesterday, I did not do it with maximum.”
Tommy : “Why, Jane ?”
Jane : “Yeah, because I lost my notebook.”
Tommy : “Oh god, how it can be?”
Jane : “It seems lagged in class. But I can not find it anymore.”
Tommy : “I wish you can get enough value.”
Jane : “I wish too.”
